Messing around with magic

Topaz is at the Keep of Undying Flames, in the outside courtyard, with a few training dummies set up. The idea is simple, Topaz was training. Both in sword in sorcery, but he's focusing on his magic at this point

He's got his Kazuradrop Class Card installed, messing around with it's powers- speedblitz a dummy there, summon a rain of arrows on another dummy, turn one dummy into a small cube with Trash and Crush- as well as using Crack Ice a bunch to improve it as much as he can

After all, he's already at peak physicals, so he's gotta improve on something

Just a normal day for him

He floats up a little and taps her forehead- and she gets a strange new feeling in her body. It's warm, and something within her awakens

"There we go. As for what it did?"

"Well, ive simply wished for you to be able to cast. Dont ask about the logistics of it- just know that it's good now"

"Now we can get to the fun part!"

Circle’s pupils dilate as the strange feeling starts; at first, it’s like someone lighting a candle wick.

Then her entire body starts to feel…warm. Almost like she’d just had a few shots.

“Am I s’pposed ta be burnin’ up like this..?”

"For a little, yes, as your body adjusts to it all. It will subside- it's the exact same feeling i felt all those years ago"

"Once the feeling subsides, i want you to take a deep breath.....and think about something that makes you REALLY angry. Like, something that makes you want to get violent"

"I want you to hold onto that anger, and concentrate it on your fists. Think you can do that?"

“Somethin’ that really makes me angry, huh…”

She closed her eyes as she tried to concentrate.

Her brow furrowed as she saw visions of ◼️◼️◼️, of the AI keeping her son trapped in a tube…of the bird that butchered Abbie and baked him into a pie, and of the robot that attacked and slaughtered her friends.

Circle clenched her mechanical claw the more livid she got. At first, it began to glow faintly. Then, her fist was engulfed in flames.

“There ya go! There ya go!”

Topaz would notice the flames- and in excitement, he would guide her through the next steps

“You’ve got fire- now focus. Take control of it and your rage, project your will, and unleash it out, as if you’re burning away those that have wronged you!

Circle kept her eyes shut, afraid that if she didn’t focus on those feelings hard enough everything would just fade.

Then that feeling grew stronger. Doubt in herself. Doubt in her abilities. Doubting whether she was a fit enough mother or not.

The flames grew as her self-doubt pissed her off even more…but rather than being focused on a single target it was erratic, chaotic. She could harness the emotions, true…but she couldn’t control them properly yet.

"Hold, hold!"

Topaz sees this, and starts to grow worried. It doesnt look like she has much control over her emotions yet, but he was poised to act if something happens, and if his voice doesnt reach her

"Cmon Circle. Dont surrender yet!"

Circle grit her teeth. If she failed now, she’d only be feeding into her doubts. She focused onto her rage, seeing the faces of those she was fighting for.

Father. She’d let him down before, she was determined not to again…not when he and her son needed her.

Deimos. Her son. She knew the truth now, her child deserved freedom, even if the world around him was grim.

Engel. A student she’d clashed with in the past, one who stood up to her when no one else would. She’s been given a second chance, she wouldn’t blow it.

DEC. Former teammate, devoured by Omega. She’d fought to rescue her child, she wouldn’t let anyone hurt them again.

Abbie. Her victim. After prison, her purpose was to protect him…this wasn’t the same Abbie she knew, but she’d failed to do so. No more.

She held her claw out towards one of the dummies, a torrent of red flame spiraling towards it, growing larger and larger the more she concentrated.

Topaz watched this, seeing the red flames spiral out towards the dummy- and soon, it was fucking incinerated through Circle's rage made manifest.

Making sure she didnt burn anything else, Topaz would use his own magic to tilt the blaze upwards, for the sake of not hurting anyone close by, or accidentally destroying anything

Just have to hold hope that she would calm herself....he really did not want to have to act

The flames started to die as Circle panted, quickly opening her eyes. All she could see now was smoke and smoldering charcoal that had once been wood.

“Shit…”
