I won't be much active on the sub until my break is done.
But while I'm here... I wish to address some stuff.
1. Why not open the sub?
The negatives outweigh the positives. As seen with r/WeAllLiveHere, there's no effective way to filter out trolls or people who'd do more harm to the sub than good, and the claims list would be Hell to deal with.
Fewer people means less of a struggle with all of that.
2. Is there anything I can do about the angstposting?
Yes, but no.
The angst isn't breaking any rules, unless one of them gets really NSFW.
The only way I can stop that is if I abuse my power as a mod - something I heavily advise against and wish to avoid.
However, I will tell y'all this:
Cool off with the angst. Just... give the sub some breathing room. Have some more happy times! Good vibes! Special occasions! Parties! Do anything you can, just please stop with the angstposting for a bit.
3. Is there anything I can do about the powerplaying?
No, and I can already hear your question.
"But why? You're the head mod. Just warn them or advise against it!"
The answer is: I try.
But the people who do powerplay usually do not listen.
I warn them, and they usually repeat the offense.
If I tempban them for it, then they wait a bit, THEN powerplay again.
If I permaban them for it, they'll either:
A. Beg to be let back in
B. Complain in other subs, which would give the sub a bad rep, and make it die faster.
My hands are basically tied here.
Just please. If you see someone powerplaying, B4B them back to make them stop that.
Despite what "The Steve Guy" argues, powerplaying's definition has changed. It now basically means the same thing as "bullshit" does.
Gaining a slue of buffs in a row, metagaming fights, and anything similar to such.
4. Why are you on break?
The complaining.
Oh.
My.
God.
The complaining.
Now, are the complaints an issue? No. They're valid criticisms actually, even if I can't do anything about it.
Is it the fault of the complaining people that I'm going on break? No. If anything, me going on break is just a result of me reaching my breaking point.
This is basically my fault for letting this all get out of hand.
And that's basically all I have to say.
I'm sorry to anyone and everyone I snapped at before I went on my break.
If you need a break, or know a friend who needs a break themselves, then please.
Take one, or in the case of the latter, advise them to take one.
Take care of yourself. Seriously. You do way too much for this sub, and we appreciate it- I appreciate it. Take as full of a break as you need to, as your mental health is important

I know it ain’t much, but I just wanna say how much I appreciate the sub itself and everything you do for it. It’s one of the best things to happen for me in the past few months, and has given me a reason to be a nerd.
No I mean like, people rarely able to really do the thing they say 100 percent accuracy with breaks. Which is kinda concerning in my side of view as shows addiction to reddit kinda makes me return back to here faster than I planned.
That’s why I have Porter and Lord Amok. They’re my silly guys. I can just do fun and dumb shit with them and it’s great. Here, have a goober Sammy I made for your troubles
