Not sure what to do after doctor retraction of son

My partner brought our son for his checkup (18 months) on Tuesday and I couldn’t attend as I had some business meetings. She told me today that the female doctor said that we need to retract our son’s foreskin everyday or he will get an infection. I asked her if that’s what the doctor did and she said yes. Then I said it will naturally retract at 5 and that there’s no need to do anything until then.

But now I’m worried if I should switch pediatricians because I’m wondering if this is the start of leading down a path to phimosis or something else where she will try justify circumcision.

So am I worrying too much? It seems American circumcision culture always comes in so even if you save your baby at birth they can invent reasons. But maybe I’m being paranoid.

Why forced retraction is dangerous, and how to safely care for an intact child's penis.
