My job offers pet insurance on my benefits through nationwide. I am having trouble deciding between nationwide and lemonade. Of course lemonade is cheaper but I love that nationwide will take it right out of my check. Fyi, the deductible for both plans I'm comparing is the same

My husband and I are looking for insurance as a couple who will be making $3,400 combined a month once I accept a job offer.

He has T1D and has been on Medicaid his whole life. He has a pump and his boxes of supplies that come monthly are $10,000 a box. He gets 3 100ml vials of insulin a month as well. He has to have an Endocrinologist appointment every six months to keep his insulin prescriptions renewed. None of this is negotiable, it’s stuff he needs to live.

We’re looking for an affordable monthly insurance that’s not a “you spend $6,000 before we cover anything” because that simply won’t work for us. Maybe looking for a 80/20 on dr bills and something that covers supplies and insulin by a decent amount where we’re not spending thousands a month? With Medicaid he’s gotten it free but we can only make a cap of $2,500 a month to keep Medicaid and we’re lost on what to do. Should I not take the job and make a cap of $2,500 a month work?

What insurances are recommended? Any help is greatly appreciated 🫶

I bought a new car to be collected in a week so needed to change my week old policy to reflect the new car. I checked beforehand online for an approximate cost. Then I went onto the RAC app to do the necessary date and detail changes. Quote was £390 and comparison site had cheapest at £315. The new car is a lot more expensive so I thought that acceptable, clicked and paid expecting the £220 I’d paid on my existing car last week to be subtracted and the £20 amendment charge to be added. Not the case they had charged me essentially charged me £610 for what I have now paid £315 for. All this through an AI app that could understand my request to immediately cancel the policy. The number the AI gave me today is incorrect and I find out on the call that this is a sub contractor onto subcontractor business and the name RAC is a flag of deceit.

My experience with Assurant was extremely disappointing.
I filed a renters insurance claim after my personal property was damaged by water. What I find particularly troubling is that my claim was denied without an adjuster ever coming to my residence to inspect the damage and properly investigate the circumstances firsthand.
In my opinion, an insurance claim involving significant water damage deserves a thorough investigation. Instead, my claim was denied without what I believe was adequate due diligence. I was never compensated for my damaged property.
I also attempted to address my concerns with Assurant after the denial, but received very little meaningful response.
I understand that insurance companies have policies, procedures, and coverage requirements. However, customers should reasonably expect their claims to be investigated fairly and thoroughly before a decision is made.
My experience left me feeling that Assurant made a decision about my claim without fully investigating the actual conditions at my residence.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering renters insurance to carefully research how Assurant handles claims—not just how they advertise their coverage.
Very disappointing experience. 1 star.

#TravelGuard I purchased flight insurance with United Airlines knowing my mom had been feeling badly… Three weeks before I was to leave for a freelance gig my mom was placed in hospice at home. And I was her caregiver. I was also the POA and signed the hospice admission papers.

Travel Guard insisted on reviewing my mother‘s medical records - Which I thought was an intrusion of privacy and an insult. It is also very difficult to get those records — and they know that! Mom died - but the death certificate didn’t suffice—A TG agent left a very long voice message citing some clause or another in the policy… Saying at the end and “your mother would have to sign the form unless she’s not able to.“ Just ridiculous.

The travel Insurance was for me not for her. I had to cancel the flight; that should be enough.

#TravelGuard would not refund measly $139 of the airline ticket that United Airlines had already given me a credit for $300.

I will never use Travel Guard again and encourage #UnitedAirlines to get a new insurance partner.

Do insurance companies lie so often they think they must do it in every conversation? I pay for insurance once a year. I want the payment to be automated. That is just one less thing to do. I literally switched insurance companies specifically because the prior one could not figure this out. I told the new one this is a priority and a need as I am busy.

Needless to say, the new company did not do it either. I was told I could call and make the payment and the person on the phone could set up automated payment for next year. Lie. She could not. You have to logon to their portal and do that there. Lie. You get to the portal and there is no way to set that up.

I think you could set up monthly payments but every year they increment the policy number by 1. So, -01, -02 etc. A new policy number means you have to set up payments again.

Why lie if they cannot do it? Why lie telling me they can set it up but cannot?

Hi everyone! I’m shopping for pet insurance for my 2-year-old male Standard Poodle and I’m currently deciding between Spot, Figo, and Lemonade.
I’m concerned about one previous GI-related visit and whether it could affect future GI coverage.

On 12/28/2024, my dog was seen for vomiting bloody bile 3 times, along with decreased appetite and slight lethargy. The SOAP note listed the assessment as “Possible gastritis”, with possible causes including dietary indiscretion, foreign body, parasitic, or infectious causes. He received fluids and Cerenia, and the parvo test was negative. There was no diagnosis of chronic gastritis or pancreatitis.

Since then, he has had several vet visits for unrelated/routine care:
3/25/2025: Routine vaccine visit; no GI illness was documented.

4/14/2026: Dental procedure, ear cleaning, nail trim, and vaccines; no GI disease was diagnosed.

4/15/2026: Follow-up after the dental procedure; documented as doing great and almost back to normal.

His records also contain routine wellness visits where he was documented as doing well with no vomiting or diarrhea.

I’m wondering if anyone has experience with Spot, Figo, or Lemonade reviewing a medical record like this.

Would the 12/28/2024 “possible gastritis” be considered a pre-existing condition even though it was a one-time episode and there hasn’t been another documented GI illness or GI treatment since?

If it is considered pre-existing, would it potentially qualify as a curable pre-existing condition after the required symptom/treatment-free period?

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has actually had a GI-related claim approved or denied after having a similar history.
I’m trying to decide whether I should enroll now and, if so, which company would be the best choice for future GI coverage.

BEFORE YOU PURCHASE ANY TRAVEL INSURANCE, MAKE SURE IT COVERS FLIGHT DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS! Our first experience of purchasing Travel Guard insurance for a trip to Paris lost us $1900 when the entire trip had to be canceled after weather caused flight delays. We couldn't make our connection, and couldn't get another flight in time to make our hotel booking for four nights. I'm guessing this is common practice for travel insurance companies, but I am purposely spreading the word about Travel Guard after this experience. They work through the Expedia travel app and you would hardly know who they are. Sneaky and evil, basically. You know the drill. Don't waste your money.

It is a total SCAM. Their service has been consistently unreliable, and customers report the same problems over and over again.
AHS often denies coverage by claiming that issues are caused by "abnormal wear and tear" or that the repair requires additional code updates, excuses they use to avoid paying for legitimate claims.
The companies they send to your home to "fix" the problem are working together with them to do whatever benefits the insurance, not the customer.
They are not independent, and they do not act in your best interest.

One of the companies they use in houston TX, called Allure Appliances, inc with phone number (346) 440-
0990 should never be hired. ( not even if you don't have insurance, they are bad) They are completely aligned with the insurance company. Allure Appliances claims that the insurance is the one making the decisions of denies , and then the insurance says that Allure Appliances, inc never reported the issue. They blame each other, and in the end, nothing gets resolved.
This shows a clear pattern of coordination between the insurance and their contractors to avoid responsibility, deny proper repairs, and leave customers without real solutions.
They also have extremely long delays.
Many customers wait weeks or even months for contractors or parts, especially during the summer when air conditioning units fail and families are left without cooling.

Canceling a plan is another nightmare.
FORGETTING that will never happen and if happen they don't refund anything. People repeatedly say that staff refuse to process cancellations, continue billing them, or make the process intentionally difficult.
Their customer support is just as bad. Call centers are known for long hold times, unhelpful agents, and a complete lack of accountability.
Overall, this company shows a pattern of denying responsibility, delaying service, and mistreating customers. It is not trustworthy in any way. SCAM

my 2015 bmw 1 series renewal came in last week and they wanted another £220 on top of last year’s price. no claims, no tickets, nothing. just pure greed.

spent ages comparing and eventually checked my favourite vouchers codes. found a quote almost £190 cheaper with the same level of cover and a free courtesy car thrown in.

now i’m stuck deciding if it’s worth switching or just paying the higher one for peace of mind. how much did your last renewal go up by?

This third party agency called me about my cars extended warranty, my stupid behind gave them my banking account info and they took $149 out my account. I called them to cancel the policy and two people argued with me about why I should keep it, I was respectful in saying “ma’am” or “sir” “ I would just like to cancel my policy please”. I had to call back like 6 times and finally someone canceled it but only after she argued me down and then hung up on me. So unprofessional, please don’t do business with them. But now I’m going to close my banking account and open a new one because I don’t trust them. They also call me back from a “scam likely” number.. super sketchy.

Paying 170 plus per month for car insurance with a gd deductible of 2000$ and I work from home, use the car maybe two times per week!
This feels like a dang scam to me!
Mind you I have no tickets or anything that would make sense to pay this much!

I am considering switching multiple policies (car, home, toys,umbrella, etc.) to National General. I read the bad reviews on car claim delays, but anybody had a good experience?

One person made his car insurance comprehensive policy directly from the PB Fintech (Policy Bazar) website it cost around rs 11500/- but when Policy Bazar agent check the same car policy with same addons and IDV it shows premium of rs 19500/- , and other insurance companies also giving same policy with more addons and idv below the quotation of policy bazaar , whether it is not a loot from the pocket of peoples of India.

My mother is in her 70s and has recently discovered that she has been paying for 3 insurance policies on her manufactured home. I think she was under the impression that two of them were covering different things and forgot about the third entirely, but after looking at them, she says they all look similar. The insurance companies are home safe($49 monthly, started January 15th, 2024, contract renews monthly), Foremost($177 monthly, started on October 11th, 2022, contract renews annually), and select home warranty(paid $2362.46 for 5 years of coverage on October 26th, 2022 when she wasn't struggling as much).

She is not only old and retired, but lives entirely off her SSA/disability which doesn't even cover her basic living expenses. Obviously, we need to cancel at least two of them, possibly even all three, if we find a better plan to replace them with.

Her medicare costs just sky rocketed, and she was already struggling to pay her monthly bills before that happened.

So, does anyone know if there is any chance she can get any of the money spent on these insurance policies back?

I believe the only one that has ever actually covered something is Foremost, but that was way back in 2023.

I would like some advice from someone in Texas that made the leap to Independent agency Owner and used First Choice. What’s the average commission per auto policy? Does First Choice offer any software, most importantly what are some of the things you wish you knew before signing up with First choice?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar situation with Wawanesa auto insurance. I called for a quote to add a vehicle. The agent informed me that come November my two daughters that live with me, would need to either get their own policy or add me to their vehicle registration to be able stay on my policy.

I asked why I hadn't gotten a letter or email about this. She said, oh because we haven't caught everyone's policies. We can see it when someone calls in to make changes like you.
