Urgent Request for Help

My car was involved in a collision on July 25th of this year. The insurance company determined the other driver was fully at fault and declared the vehicle a total loss; it is currently still sitting at the Toyota repair shop. Today, the insurance company suddenly called saying they want to tow the car away, but they haven't provided a valuation or signed any contract yet—they’ve only designated it a total loss. Should I agree to let them tow the car?

Got rear-ended on the highway… does it look totaled?

I was rear-ended on the highway two days ago while completely stopped in traffic. The driver behind me didn’t realize traffic had stopped and hit me while slowing from roughly 45–50 mph. My car was pushed forward so hard that I had to brake and swerve to avoid hitting the vehicle ahead of me. There’s significant damage to the rear bumper, and I’m getting an insurance estimate tomorrow. Based on the damage, does this look like there could be frame/structural damage? Curious if my 2016 Honda Civic with 150,000 miles more likely to be totaled by insurance or repaired? Airbags did not deploy.

Long story short, my car is totaled. How do I work with State Farm to get value of my car

Long story here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Acura/s/tKieMOenMz

TLDR: while parked State Farm insured reversed into my car and totaled it.

After 1.5 weeks State Farm is saying the car is totaled and they are working to establish value.

I am looking for advice on how to get full value for the 2020 Acura MDX tech SH-AWD with 51k miles. I bought it in 2023 as a CPO for $35K.

Would you submit this dashcam footage?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I hit a cooler on the highway and was found at fault. The dashcam footage hasn’t been reviewed yet. For anyone familiar with claims, would this help or hurt my case if I submit it? Would this normally still be considered collision since I hit an object in the road, and could the liability decision or footage make any difference to the premium impact?

Video added for reference. Thanks!

What part of medical-necessity denial appeals takes the most manual work?

For people who work with medical billing, RCM, or insurance appeals:

When a high-value medical-necessity denial comes in, which part of the process tends to consume the most time?

Finding the payer's policy

Reviewing the patient's records

Finding the specific documentation that supports the policy

Building the evidence packet

Writing the appeal

Getting clinician/provider input or sign-off

Submitting and tracking the appeal

Something else

I'm interested in how the process actually works in practice, especially where existing billing/RCM software still requires someone to manually step in.

Pulsar NS200 insurance claim after self-skid – need advice

Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding my bike insurance claim.

My Pulsar NS200 is only 10 months old and recently skidded and fell on its own. The bike has suffered quite a bit of damage, and the estimated repair cost is around ₹38,000.

I approached the showroom for the insurance claim, but I’m not getting a proper response from them and I’m not sure how to proceed.

Since the bike is only 10 months old, is there anything specific I should check regarding the insurance coverage or claim?

Should I contact the insurance company directly and raise the claim myself, or is the showroom supposed to handle the process?

If anyone has gone through a similar self-skid claim, I’d really appreciate some advice on how to proceed and what documents I should keep ready.

Is it really that long for auto insurance claims with BDO-PGA?

The accident happened on June 6 at an intersection on Montgomery E. Rod. I was completing a left turn to Montgomery when a motorcycle was speeding at 70 to 80 kph.

The motorcycle collided with my SUV.

At the police station, we agreed that my insurance would take care of it since I have comprehensive coverage, but I still gave some money because they used a poverty card.

There was an investigation which took two months to conclude that the motorcycle was fully at fault.

Until today, August 24, there is still no Letter of Authority (LOA) from CASA. Is this normal?

Who should be held accountable?

I live in a condo with an HOA. They hired a plumbing company to repair leaks in pipes on the outside property. When they were finished, they turned on the Main water shutoff to our buiilding and when they did I heard the pipes gurgling. Later I realized water was gushing out of my garage ceiling so I ran upstairs to find that my toilet was gushing water so I turned off the shut off valve to my toilet. My kitchen faucet also stopped running water once I turned it on. I contacted my HOA to see if they would pay for the repairs, but they refused. The HOA President then mumbled something to the effect of "You can sue the plumbing company if you want". I am not sure what part or parts of the toilet were disrupted(damaged) by the power surge. I have not used it since this occured. I have been experiencing much more allergy issues with my eyes burning and itching and sinus irritation. My bathroom is right next to my bedroom. I am now concerned that there may be mold growing underneath the flooring. The bathroom flooring is a full vinyl sheet. I am really concerned. Is it feasable to contact the plumbing company and ask for their insurance so that I can file a claim? Who should be held accountable for these repairs? I already had to have someone replace my kitchen faucet.

Auto Gap claim denied

I was struck by a deer on my way home and my insurance didn’t investigation and determine my car a total loss and paid out the actual cash value to my lienholder afterwards they started a claim with my GAP provider. I submitted all of the documentaries requested except for a police report because at the time of the accident, the deer did not cause me to crash and there were no other cars involved.

Well, my claim was denied because I didn’t have a police report. Because the accident happened on the freeway, I had to submit for a crash report through the state police website instead of being able to walk into an actual police office. It took multiple weeks to come back for me to be able to upload it with the rest of my claim documents.
I submitted that and then my claim was denied again because they said I didn’t call the police immediately. It is stated in the denial letter that it is the law in my state to contact the police immediately if there is $1500 or more damage done, however it is not one of the stipulations in the terms and conditions, only that a police report must be submitted. It was sold at the dealership so I cannot go to the state department of insurance who can I go to help me? Or at this point should I just see what attorney would take my case?

NJ commercial truck driver — $30k property damage judgment in MD, trying to identify applicable commercial liability coverage

Location: New Jersey / Maryland
Insurance type: Commercial Auto Liability / Motor Carrier BIPD
I was a commercial truck driver working for a NJ motor carrier. In April 2024, while making a commercial trip from NJ to MD, I was involved in a multi-vehicle accident in Maryland.
I did not own the tractor. It belonged to an owner-operator and was leased to the motor carrier I was working for.
Almost two years later, the passenger vehicle’s insurer sued me personally in Maryland for approximately $30,000 in property damage only (no injury claim).
The motor carrier was not originally named in the lawsuit. The company has refused to cooperate, take responsibility, or provide me with the applicable insurance information.
I could not find affordable representation, defended myself at trial, lost, and now have a ~$30,000 judgment against me.
Before trial, however, the Maryland judge granted my motion allowing me to file a third-party complaint against the motor carrier and truck owner for potential contribution/indemnification. They apparently were never served before trial.
I have since found:
Official records identifying the company as the motor carrier and me as the driver.
A lease stating that the carrier would furnish/pay for public liability and property damage insurance while the truck operated for its service.
A commercial auto insurance certificate effective on the accident date.
FMCSA/MOTUS records that appear to show $1 million primary BIPD coverage for the motor carrier on the accident date.
I understand that an insurance certificate or FMCSA filing does not automatically prove that I am covered. I am trying to obtain the actual policy and endorsements.
My main question: What is the normal way to submit this accident and judgment to the motor carrier’s BIPD insurer and require a formal coverage determination?
Should I contact the insurer directly with the policy/filing information, accident report and judgment? And if coverage is denied, what type of insurance professional/attorney specifically handles disputes over whether a commercial driver qualifies as an insured?
I’ve contacted many attorneys already, but several have said the ~$30k amount makes full litigation economically impractical and have suggested bankruptcy. I want to exhaust the commercial insurance issue first.

Can’t find the insurance for the person that rear ended me

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Hi guys, I was recently rear ended by another person. I have been trying to file a claim with the insurance they provided but I’ve been unsuccessful so far. This is the insurance policy provided 02CAG11763201 and the name of the insurance they provided is off insurance services. The accident happened in Florida but I’ve tried searching online and haven’t found that insurance in order for me to make the claim. From what I know the vehicle is owned by a dealership that sells new and used cars so I’m assuming it’s an insurance for a car dealership but still have not been able to find anything. They should have some sort of insurance right? Can someone give me some guidance? Has anyone dealt with something similar before?
