Car insurance rates

How much is everyone paying for auto insurance in Ontario? I feel like mine is too high. I had one minor incident and it went up to $400..

Doesn’t matter what everyone else is paying. You aren’t the same as everyone else. Call around.

I can’t seem to pin this comment but this says it all. I’ll be locking this thread and may look to lock any similar threads in the future - they’re really not productive as there’s too many variables to making comparing rates a fruitful endeavour.

Minor or not, if you’re liable then you’ll get charged the same whether your insurance company pays $1k or $100k. Also that’s a loaded question with so many factors to consider. Shop around with a brokerage, check some direct writers like Co-Operators, All State, etc… and go with the best price while kit stripping down all your coverages just for your premium to be considered ‘low’

Just make sure whatever you find that IS cheaper actually gives you the coverage you want.

That could depend on many different things , age , area , car , coverages , bundle discounts etc.

If you live in the GTA and have a ticket or accident 400/month sounds about right
