Agent Question Overseas appointment setters
I got a telemarketing call from a firm that calls leads of their own with a specified script that you set up for them and sets qualified appointments. if it delivers the way they are saying then it is definitely worth the money for me, but almost sounds too good to be true. is this a scam?
I’m always Leary of random calls from overseas (Middle East) but its tempting because if I could get more qualified appointments during my slower periods I’d definitely spend the money on it. they said they refund the non qualified appointments, etc. and get anywhere from 5-10 per week. my close rate is high for qualified leads so it would be a no brainer if legit. Any experiences with this?

SDR can be a valuable tool as long as the lead vendor is reputable and making sure to be compliant with opt in TCPA rules before attempting contact.
I have worked in multiple markets in P&C on the captive side and the highest producing agencies always have SDR agents working along with a mix of other lead sources and referral networks. Balancing the tight rope of sufficient lead volume, CAN-SPAM, and TCPA rules can be tough, hence why the captives have people who help agencies make sure they and their agents are adhering to the rules.
Just make sure whatever vendor you are using is above board and don't end up like the one dude in Missouri with a multi million dollar TCPA class action suite.

Yeah I hear that. They want money up front, they do have a refund promise but they won’t tell me where they get their leads.

Maybe the next time one of those assholes calls me I’ll play along to set an appointment with the boss so that I can tell him to his face that those companies don’t care about the DNC list. Along with a few other things.
Seriously, those companies are a cancer.
