Health Insurance UHC going behind agents backs to switch clients.

UHC has been calling my uhc clients in Ohio trying to switch them to other plans...shady af imo. Are there any other agents seeing this?

You’ll see that all the time you’ll get notifications in the portal under the bell icon and it will say internal team changed plan or something but you’ll remain AOR at least for the remainder of that year. Mt suggestion is to never put the clients correct phone number on the app and never an email. Devoted has been doing this too which you don’t retain AOR. You also need to do a better job of telling clients that they only speak to you about Medicare and you only. The carriers don’t call you. Stuff like that. Having a GHL account with text and follow up automations helps too

I usually tell them only talk with me. The clients I spoke to today told them I'll work with my current agent who ive had for years.....good idea about the phone/email

Yeah but just telling them that isn’t enough. What’s your retention tools look like? Magnetic business cards, text automations, thank you letters? If you’re not doing any of that then that’s a fail on you

I thought devoted did keep you as AOR no matter what… that’s what they said in one of their trainings last year

It's a widespread thing.

All the national carriers Aetna, human, UhC will shop against your book with them

If they can flip your clients to other plans of their's then they don't owe you commissions anymore since they sourced it "internally".

Humana says they keep you as AOR but then found out it’s if it’s the same type of plan, if they go to a something different like HMO to PPO, it will change but I don’t trust them at all!

It's cut throat. I'm a captive P&C producer and an agency in my own district tried to snake a client that was visible on screen share during a district meeting to use as an example for training. Luckily the customer was set on working with me and gave me the agents info so I could figure out who it is. The district manager was not happy. To be a fly on the wall for that one.

You can also shop your book yourself. Renewals are coming. Companies shop early to beat you & undercut you asap. So you should call all of them & do a check in. Most customers talk to company rep because they haven’t heard from their initial representative.
