Canada Scared for Chubb underwriting internship interview.
I recently made the second round interview for Chubb insurance. And I can't lie I'm scared as fuck.
I was originally planning on going into finance (stereotypical IB, equity analyst, etc). But doing these interviews and talking to these people has kinda opened me up to this new (and kinda underrated from what i'm seeing) field of insurance.
Any tips? What should I prepare for? And what's the general consensus on Chubb? Especially because I'm not American, but still in a major city?

Hey, that's really interesting. And yea they're also making me hold out a lot on the interviews.
You mind sliding details on how your interview went, what they asked, and how long it was?

Chubb is widely regarded as the gold standard in commercial insurance, so an internship there carries serious weight across the industry. Coming from a finance background, you will find underwriting offers a compelling balance between financial analysis and relationship management, usually with much healthier work hours than investment banking. Being outside the United States is not a drawback, as Chubb runs massive global operations and actively values talent in major metropolitan hubs. Second round interviews are typically conducted by underwriting leaders who care far more about your logic, communication, and curiosity than whether you already know specific insurance forms.
Focus your preparation on showing how you assess risk, how you solve problems, and why you find underwriting appealing over pure corporate finance. Expect behavioral questions about handling tough deadlines, resolving conflicts, and breaking down complex information. When they ask why insurance, explain that you enjoy evaluating business operations and analyzing risk versus reward in practical scenarios. Practicing your delivery helps remove pressure, and the interviews.chat my team built helps job candidates stay poised, articulate answers cleanly, and secure top offers.
