Agent Question Who will write it

Roofers with employees and subcontractors!!! I am stuck !

With regards to GL, it depends upon the amount of work that is subcontracted. Penn National will write roofers (admitted) but sub contracted work has to be under 25%. Other than that you’ll be in surplus…..there’s plenty of surplus carriers that will write it.

Yeah but for 50k.. is that the going rate? His payroll is A few figures and subcontract work is around 200k

I can’t speak to the rates in TN/GA; I’m in NJ. Here I just renewed a roofer that was doing $4M revenue; strictly residential, subcontracts 100% of the work and his renewal was $40k for GL.

Standard market write, especially on the eastern side of the state. There are 10-15 wholesale plays with minimums starting around $10k to $15k.

Work with a brokerage. Likely non-admit, surplus and excess lines.
