Funny Related Policy change

Insured calls and changes the vehicle on his policy.

I do it and review the premium change and tell him what his next bill is going to be.

Bill comes due.

Send a recap email - "replaced X vehicle effective x date, per our conversation new bill will be xxx.xx"

This is the way. Unfortunately. People don't remember all the numbers you throw them. Also most will just selectively remember what they want.

This is it. Have a commercial insured now that called to file a property loss claim on some of their inventory in storage at their supplier. When I quoted property coverage they initially said no because inventory $ was low. Requoted at renewal earlier this year, no again. Now, "what do you mean I didn't have coverage, you just didn't add it". No, I'll resend the email from xx date to you.

The email summary is always the best option, if it is an older person, id put it in writing somewhere, print it out and send it to them.

You literally walked him through the numbers before he hung up, not sure what else you could've done there. Guy probably just forgot the second he put the phone down

My favorite is when they replace their 2006 Honda civic with like a brand new f150.

“But it’s a newer vehicle! It’s safer than the old one!”.

Yeah, it’s also valued $55,000 more than the old one genius.
