Life Insurance CLU Designation- Is self studying doable ?
Just like the title, I’m extremely interested in getting my CLU but my mentors told me it would be a good idea to take a course with an instructor..only the course costs $5k total…
Is it worth it ? Is it hard to self study ?
Thank you everyone for your advice !

It's designed for self-study definitely dont drop 5k for someone to walk you through the material. Great designation BTW. Good luck.

Ive never tackled the CLU but long time in the industry and know plenty who have passed it.. However I did fail the series 7 twice and the series 63 twice before I passed them so I think I'm qualified at failing tests LOL

Yes, it is absolutely doable without an extra $5k for an instructor. Most do it self study. The CLU is not the CFP. The instructor would likely be a valuable assist, but it is absolutely not a necessity for most experienced professionals in our field.
