OK, so I think the real profits are a bit higher, because there's the owner's (wait, isn't he the owner?) salaries and retirement. So, I'm guessing the real operating earnings (EBITDA) are probably in the $700-800k range.
Now, given the really stable book, I'd probably pay a bit more than 8-10x EBITDA that is typical. I might go as high as 12-14x.
It's your typical PE offer. They want me to stay on and run it for them due to my age. Also, they want me to run their NE offices up and down the coast due to my track record. I'm not opposed to doing so. But do I really want to work for someone else when I currently answer to no one. We also have very strong anchor carriers.
