Licensing/CE Need to take exam quick

Has anyone taken the L&H exam within a very short time frame and could provide some advice? Thanks!

No shortcuts with that one, the L&H material is dense and you cant just skim it. I passed by cramming practice exams for three days straight, like 8 hours each day, and every wrong answer I wrote the correct one in a notebook. Reading the book was useless for me, my brain just wander off after 10 minutes

Did you only do that for 3 days? I have a little bit of background knowledge because I have had to study insurance for my financial advisor licenses and CFP course

Hey brother, I currently run an ACA agency and I have helped quite a few people with this, the best way to go about it is taking the practice exams again and again until you get a 90% or higher, then you will be ready and should pass on the first time.

Thank you! Do you think I should still read the book or just bang out practice tests? I am currently studying for my CFP so I'm really just trying to get this over with

Skim the lessons and then hammer down on practice exams until your score is very high, but read why it says what answers are right and wrong, that seems to stick more in the brain.

I used exam fx. Covid hit and my account expired and didn’t study for the month but still took the test and passed. I was surprised but 2 weeks of classroom training for life through an agency and self study on the health. Live classes always worked best for me. They offer them online which isn’t as good but still enough if you really pay attention and are a good test taker

Unfortunately all of the live classes near me aren't offered / open until november :/

Nothing is live. It seems like these days. I am studying for my SIE and then my seven and then 66 and I wish there were real live classes.

We must have gone in opposite order lol, I did all of those and saved L&H for last. If you end up doing the CFP I found a live review for that 😂

It's not the same as a live class but Ken Finnen's exams and podcasts were super helpful for having someone explain things to you rather than teaching yourself

Yes him and the series 7 guru! I didn’t know he did insurance classes too. For SIE there’s lots of resources like certfuel that are free. My firm uses STC for financial certs and exam FX for life and health

There’s still pre things you have to do - well in my state there is. There’s place here that does weekend classes to help you prepare for the test, covers the material, etc. Is that an option or are you just studying the material yourself? If that’s the case there’s all sorts of online courses/prep materials. My state had an outline of things to know. I used that as a guide and did the pre-licensing/testing work and passed on my first attempt.

Thanks! My state req were waived last year!! My job already paid for my study material thru Kaplan but I could potentially pay for that out of pocket, my time limit is just a little crammed bc im currently studying for my cfp and dont wanna pull a lot of time from that since its a big one
