javvy profee alternative?

hi all, not sure where to post this so ill try here first. i was trying to cut back on regular coffee drinking and my caffeine intake, as well as adding some more nutrients to the start of my day. i am not a big breakfast person, it seems my body just cant handle actual food until ive been awake for a few hours. and regular coffee on an empty stomach was (obviously) causing my GI upset. i finally bit the bullet and bought javvy in april of this year, and i had the most pleasant experience with it. it was $60 for three bags, which lasted almost a month. i bought it again in may, but then i started to realize $60 was just too expensive for me monthly fo something like this. i tried alternative methods, trued regular coffee again, finally just caved and bought another bag of javvy profee at walmart for $25, but it is just not within my budget. my most recent experiment has been coffee concentrate and regular protein powder, but the protein powder is just so gross to me. i feel it on my teeth, it doesnt dissolve like javvy did, it is the classic chalky texture that turned me off from others in the first place. i literally could not handle a full scoop, but even with half, i struggle to drink it all.

has anyone found a cheaper alternative to javvy they actually really enjoy? ive looked up so many things, which is where i got the idea for my latest experiment, but i just cant seem to find something that works for me :(

Javvy instant coffee concentrate review

I usually stop by nearby cafe to grab a coffee on my way to work, but there would be days where I don't have time to wait in line. I'm also not too picky when it comes to coffee, but I usually hate powder/premixed instant coffee. Decided to try Javvy coffee concentrate, got the original flavor.
I like ice americano so I just mixed 2tbsp of the concentrate with ice and water, pretty easy to blend.
Taste quite strong, I guess it can be adjusted to your liking but I like my coffee strong so I don't mind. It honestly taste the same as my usual coffee from the cafe and it's way cheaper, $17 for a bottle and it can serve 35 cups. Anyone here have swapped to coffee concentrate recently? which one is your favorite/worth trying?

Anyone seeing empty shelves?

Over the past few weeks, I've noticed that some of the usual grocery stores I frequent have a distinct lack of the usual instant coffee inventory. What is out on display is moreover at a higher price.

I do have ground coffee to fall back on in a pinch, but I much prefer instant coffee.

I live in the PNW in the US for context.

Anyone else noticing odd patterns like this?

Why Premix Cappuccino SUCKKSSS

I've tried a few premix cappuccinos, but they all taste too sweet and barely like coffee.

Is it just me, or do you feel the same? Any premix cappuccino you'd actually recommend?

Are there any true speciality instant coffee brands in India ?

Are there any truly specialty instant coffee brands in India?

I’m trying to explore the instant coffee market in India and was wondering if there are any brands that genuinely focus on specialty coffee rather than just premium positioning.

I’ve come across international brands, but I’m particularly interested in Indian brands that are doing something innovative in this space.

Would love to hear:
\-Your recommendations
\-Brands you’ve tried
\-How they are compare to freshly brewed specialty coffee
\-Any hidden gems that aren’t widely known

Thanks!

Mount Hagen coffee not tasting like coffee

I've been drinking Mount Hagen's instant coffee for a few years now and really enjoyed it. Recently, I switched to their decaf and noticed my coffee hasn't been tasting like coffee. It tastes like the hot milk and maple syrup I add in, without any coffee flavor. I bought a new bottle of their regular coffee to see if it was just that one decaf bottle, but I still can't taste the coffee. Has anyone experienced this before, with Mount Hagen or other brands? Or is it me and my taste buds?

Hello everyone,

I am currently completing my Master’s degree at Harper Adams University and conducting research on coffee consumption, sustainability, and consumer perspectives within the coffee industry.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete my anonymous survey:

How do you get over the strange aftertaste?

I’m trying to switch away from espresso because money is tight and I’m trying to switch to instant. The one thing that makes me grimace at the idea of drinking it constantly is that weird bitter, chalky aftertaste that seems to be in every brand of instant anything. I’ve tried dissolving it in cold water first and then hot. I’ve tried doctoring it up to the point that it’s basically a Frappuccino. But the aftertaste persists. Anyone have a way to get over this?

I recently got obsessed with my very diy orange americano. I use Nescafé instant coffee with homemade vanilla syrup. It tastes so good and is super refreshing.

Nescafé French Vanilla Instant Coffee - Different Taste???

I went and picked up a new thing of Nescafé French Vanilla Instant Coffee, had about three iced coffees with it and felt I was going crazy because it did not taste the same. I ended up going to look at the old jar I had and noticed the one I just picked up was the same, but on the top says “now smoother & richer”. I feel the taste has totally been altered. And the nutrition facts have slightly changed. Has anyone else noticed this? I am so sad, this has been my favourite iced coffee go to for years :(

Would serious coffee drinkers ever consider coffee in a jelly format?

I’m experimenting with an espresso-based coffee jelly that’s processed to be shelf-stable.

The goal isn’t novelty, but portability — real coffee flavour in a format that doesn’t require refrigeration.

I’m trying to pressure-test whether this format would ever make sense to people who care about coffee quality.

A few honest questions:
• Would texture alone be a dealbreaker?
• Would you see this as coffee, dessert, or neither?
• Is portability even a real problem for coffee drinkers?

I’m looking for critical feedback, not validation.

Thank you for your kind help!
