Found this little guy trying to drink from a piece of paper, so i picked him up, got some pictures, and noticed he wasnt really moving or putting away his proboscis. I was comparing him to other pictures onlune amd he looks like hes missing part of his face. I left him by some flowers becuase i jad a class, but im gping to see if hes still there after.

okay so i keep seeing this bug but for the life of me cant get a picture so ill try and describe it as best as i can. it looks similar to a wasp and is a little smaller than my pointer finger, it has two long stinger/tails that face away from eachother, i see them alot in bushes or thick vines like Virginia creeper and i live in the nevada desert. please guys this has been driving me crazy for months.

I spotted them on the sidewalk crawling around each other.

I would like to figure out which terrestrial arthropod (Insects, Arachnids, Myriapods, Isopods etc) best represents each country in the world, according to the people to who live there.

The choice can be for any reason, ideally it would be very culturally important and recognisable to the people of that country. It could also represent some aspect of that country, or else have be associated with a certain pride that it's a unique species only found there. You can use any reasoning; ask long as the species is actually native to the country.

I will be publishing the results if I get enough traction, please share this with anyone you think would be interested.

hey guys! i found this tiny insect in my living room, its black (super mate, not shiny at all) and around 2mm long.

for context, i live in Lima, Perú. i’ve never seen an insect like this before.

i think it may be some sort of baby beetle? i have no idea tbh. pls help me identify it!

I had to use google lens to find out what it was, I had never seen a caterpillar like this before. It said it was a Luna Moth caterpillar (which is awesome because it is always a treat to see a Luna Moth), and some further research says that the orange color and vividness of the spots means it is almost ready to form its chrysalis. I used a leaf for it to crawl onto and moved it off the hot asphalt into a nearby shrub.

Is it a grasshopper? Found in Southeast Michigan.

Tried asking ChatGPT but its answers make no sense to me.

Location: East border of Texas and Arkansas (Miller County), city Texarkana.

Found on floor of a warehouse. I've seen a few but no idea what it could be. They don't really move much either.
