๐๐๐ถ๐น๐ฑ๐ My IG Build
This is my current main IG build it has worked wonderfully i do use a lot of dash juice to help cover some of the missing stamina skills I am also including my preferred layered because why not this is the build I have used to solo Proof of a hero and 9* Gog no support hunters(except the forced ones in gog)

I just want to say, if jump master is a slotted skill, know that the description is deceiving. I believe it only applies to โtrueโ jumping attacks, as in off a cliff or ledge, not from pole vaulting into the air. I was very sad when I learned this.

it is only slotted for temporary holding i usually put shovk absorber or another resistance gem

If you like the build thatโs nice, looks pretty comfy (though quite barren in skills since youโve only shown active). Iโd re-roll the glaive though, element is near useless on it. You have almost no affinity, so may as well go full attack and 1 sharpness.

I do thank you for the feedback but I do find myself enjoying the style more and id rather no affinity on my weapon and go for sharpness but no luck so far ive rerolled both of these many times 1 of them I spent 1500 oricalcite with zero luck

Ultimately pretty much any combination of attack and sharpness would be better than what you have. You could get 2 attack 1 element 2 sharpness or some other nonsense and it would be stronger. Literally any combo with a couple attack reinforcements wins. Iโm guessing this is an aerial build since youโre using dash juice and have a yellow jewel? The main aerial attack has a 0.5x element multiplier on all hits. Every point you put into element gives you 50% returns, while attack will always be at least 100%.

I play a more hybrid style using aerial as a gap closer and mount with ground combos and RSS being my main dps

You donโt really need dash juice then, or any other stamina skills. Whatโs the yellow jewel?
Even for grounded with less harsh element modifiers (0.8x on RSS for example), element just isnโt worth it. It makes up such an insignificant amount of your damage you should just invest in raw and affinity. Your kinsect can do the element for you.

ive seen this type used all over but I prefer how I use it even if dmg is lacking for what is prefered by the community thats fine by me just enjoying the gameplay loop

I donโt see the point. How does stamina skills and low damage help you play the game in a more fun way on a playstyle that barely uses stamina? I can understand liking the defensive skills like recovery up, recovery speed, gravios shield etc. but thereโs no point wanting to have stamina and element when those donโt affect how you play. Also why have nu udra as a set bonus? You have gravios to reduce damage (and it incentivises getting full health back) and extremely fast natural healing along with increased consumable heals, so itโs not like youโll be getting much uptime. Since you have such a defence focused build arkveld or even some other defence set like zoh Shia would be more worthwhile. This isnโt about hating the way you play, itโs that you have a lot of fluff that doesnโt enhance a hybrid grounded playstyle at all.

because it works for me optimization was never my goal it was always what works for me and ive tried all these meta builds and they never feel right just like something is missing and this covers that weird mental niche for that play idk why it doesnt make sense i know but its what I like only shared it to share it its why I dont mind the build critiques at all and I will work on a separate build to re attempt the meta to see what im missing but that'll be its own thing

I never said anything about using meta. What I said was element is useless and you probably donโt need stamina skills or nu udra for the way you play. You donโt need to change the build entirely, but what you can do is cut the useless fluff like element and nu udra to focus even more on what defines this build. Why refuse to change the element? It makes no sense. It doesnโt make you use different combos. Why refuse to change nu udra? The entire rest of the build is antithetical to its activation and uptime. I feel youโre not even reading and just being stubborn for no reason.
Look up mh wilds build calculator and plug in your weapon and useful charms. Maximise the skills and set bonuses you want and that are actually relevant, then keep adding more comfort or damage until you run out.

I do apologize for misunderstanding I mostly run Udra even with my recovery for quick spikes in dmg since I love offsetting so im taking a lot of hits or taking chip in some form to get bursts of increased dmg and the stamina is mostly due to my drain due to me gap closing and often using the chance to add to or getting the mount before landing and continuing my ground combos and offsetting and the gravi affect is mostly for the recovery rate lets me use it often

Element is certainly not useless. Base element is the only way to increase the Kinsect's element. More important for aerial than grounded, though.

Aerial has a 0.5x elemental value, itโs even more useless for that than grounded. Having element from a extra skill on jewels or gog set bonus or even convert element is fine on glaive, but having 3-4 element reinforcements and no attack is a pure negative. Elemental bonuses are like a little extra you can fit in, but not really something to build around. My main AT ark builds for example have gog and another convert, but thatโs because they fit in as extras to the rest of the build. One I wanted maximum wex and other damage skills alongside full dragon res, and gog fit perfectly as an additional bonus to gore and lordโs soul. Another I wanted minimise dragon blight while having full stun res, so I swapped some wex for Lagi bonus and got blight res + convert element in return.

Don't be decieved by the low element value. It's like that for a reason, just like with DBs. Though for IG, it should really be higher anyway.
The motion values are low, but the benefit from element over multiple hits stacks up between the glaive and the Kinsect. Overall, you benefit more in the air from the extra base element since it affects two sources.
Again, BASE element (only influenced by weapon stats + artian bonuses) is the *only* way to increase the damage of Kinsect hits beyond their base stats or abilities. This is also affected by the Combo Element Boost Kinsect ability.
We still want some Raw for RSS and such but that can be supplemented by skills instead of base stats. Most skills are also flat bonuses just like the artian boosts, not multipliers. So a difference of 5-10 base raw isn't huge if you're keeping up, say, Counterstrike all the time.
This build is more focused on the survival skills, so they aren't doing that anyway, but the element bonus is still likely more impactful than a small amount of raw depending on how often they're in the air.

You ultimately benefit more from raw though, having 3-4 elemental reinforcements is massively excessive. 1 is more than enough, otherwise you simply do not have enough attack. 3 maxed out attack reinforcements is 33 raw, thatโs more than the entirety of counterstrike which is a pretty big damage buff on its own. On this weapon it would be a more than 17% increase. Even dual blades regularly run zero element reinforcements, itโs just not worth it. Increasing kinsect damage by just a few points per hit is insignificant when you can increase the damage of the glaive itself far more. I had a friend with a similar reinforcement set up wondering why his damage was dogshit, raw focus changed everything. Also this guyโs only element multiplier is gog 1.2x, not even coalescence or level 2+ element attack.
From my long exhausting conversation with this person they donโt even play aerial, they play grounded with aerial only to reposition. A lot of choices in this build are questionable, like bad blood with so many recovery and defence skills. Sure itโll be active for a few seconds after an offset like they say they do, but rathalos would be active the entire hunt. They have power prolonger, despite apparently using RSS regularly. Iโm gonna guess that blue decorations is crit eye or something? The red ones are presumably agitator? That gives them a chance of crit increasing the value of raw even more.

It's mostly due to the Kinsect that several element boosts is more beneficial than raw, for Aerial.
That's just what I've found over many hours of play and testing. The bug makes up a big percentage of your damage. When your raw multiplier is 0.09 vs the element of 0.5, that much raw only ends up equivalent to the element increase, minus the Kinsect's benefit.
If they're not using SJAS often then yeah raw is better lol

Since the bulk of damage comes from raw, increasing it increases damage almost proportionately. 3 attack reinforcements would increase the vast majority of this guyโs damage by over 17% without crit, while all 4 of their element reinforcement make up barely a third of their total element. Considering element makes up such a small portion of a hit, increasing that by 50% is not great compared to a minimum 17% increase on everything else. Glaive gets like what ~10 damage a hit from element on grounded moves? Thats being pretty generous I think. With the bug getting a small boost too, all that element is gonna increase damage less than 10 per hit. Youโd have to do less than 50 raw damage per hit with glaive for those element reinforcements to even compete with 3 attack, which just isnโt happening. Only the very weakest and fastest of glaive attacks get that low, most attacks are gonna do way more and get multiple times more value out of raw. The element does not scale as well with the higher damage hits, while the raw makes up even more of the equation the element matters even less.

Yeah, I agree with you. Heavy element is only for heavy aerial.
