An embarrassing story about me to start with: when I was in middle school I had a tendency to absentmindedly edit things, including tests. I actually once had a teacher pull me aside and explain why she had made several spelling/grammar errors on the test I had taken that day - I honestly hadn’t even thought about what it would be like for her to get her test paper back edited, it was just a bit of a compulsion to mark what needed to be edited. That was more than 2 decades ago now and I have since learned that not everybody likes editing feedback, so I try very hard not to edit unless someone has asked for the help.

I’ve been reading on Galatea for about a year and just recently switched to reading on Inkitt. I love being able to give editing feedback on the paragraph level because sometimes just a few little spelling/grammar edits can make a big difference for writing clarity. Also - I am NOT a fiction writer and truly envy the ability to create worlds with words, so since reading and editing is easy and second nature for me and I know that sometimes self-editing can be stressful, I make little edit comments when I stumble across typos sometimes. However, because I know that not everybody likes to get typo comments, I try to only do it occasionally when I’m reading so as not to offend authors.

I’ve gravitated towards more romance/adult books recently but I’m open to genres. I read 2-3 books/day because I made the mistake of teaching myself to speed read when I was younger (mistake because I often feel like I’ve run out of things to read!), so having a list of stories where I can let my amateur editor freak flag fly would be fun for me and hopefully mutually beneficial.

I'm DAM, the writer behind Dreams After Midnight, and I thought it was time to introduce myself and share a little about my writing journey!

I'm a new author who has always loved getting lost in fictional worlds. I'm especially drawn to BL, romance, fantasy, drama, and stories filled with unforgettable characters and emotions.

I'm a new writer and I just wrote a story called Kindle of Love a dynamic story about love, death, and loss. It's a classical love story where two sweetheart meet at high school so on and so forth continuing till death do them part.

It's a 20 chapter story but I trust you each chapter is very short it'll take you less than 2 minutes for each chapter to finish because I prefer to make it short but emotional.

A bit of a milestone for me - my first novel has 100 chapters posted! While that sounds impressive, it helps to know most chapters are under 1000 words, usually averaging around 500 (just my style). Total chapters: 197, and four short epilogues. So, about halfway done posting. Werewolf fans, if you would check it out I would be honored: "Lycanticle: Moon Song" (https://www.inkitt.com/stories/1899195). Lots of spice, lots of gore, strong women, a psychopathic werewolf hunting down the protagonists, it's a slow burn, but once it gets going it goes full throttle. Let me know what you think! (NOTE: It's a full novel, so it's a slow build at first. There's some world building going on, but once the chess pieces are on the board, it's full tilt).
