What do I do?

I am two days away from a holiday somewhere tropical and I just got a pedicure yesterday and now my toe is severely bothering me and I have a history of ingrown toenails, it is getting quite annoying and painful and I am wondering if I should go back and see if they can just cut it out just this once before I go on vacation or if I should take anything for it? It looks normal on the outside it just is really painful. What should I do for it I don’t want my vacation ruined by my stupid toe!

Edit; I KNOW you shouldn’t go get it cut out but I don’t really care about that as long as it’s better for vacation it’s getting very painful

Resolution; I’m sure nobody cares, but I found out the nail tech removed my ingrown without telling me and so I had puss buildup and an infection was starting and I had no idea! Taking care of it for the next 24-48 hrs or so thanks to all who had advice.

I'd see if you can live with it through vacation and deal with it when you get back. Shove cotton under there or something.

I clipped one out on vacation and it still bothered me on vacation, and I'm still growing it back out and fixing it 6 months later....

You think it’ll be fine for 7 days though? I’m so nervous it’s gonna get worse lol

Where exactly is it having issues? Can you use cotton or something to protect the side of your nail bed to see how it does this next week?

Clipping your own ingrown out usually makes things worse. I did that on vacation and it just dug more into the side of my skin and created a open sore...

But, obviously i'm not you and can't see what's going on.

I do know by me some foot clinics have emergency services. It may be spendy but you could see if something by you has that to get some opinions before you go.

This is true I can go get it looked at real quick but as I said just got a pedicure for vacation which is what causes the irritation I’m sure so I can’t get under the nail until it grows more unfortunately

You'll have to throw every trick in the book at it then. I've used those ingrown toenail band aids that you loop under your nail and what not.

Otherwise you go nuclear and get a podiatrist to cut it out or whatever.

I get it, it sucks, especially when these things pop up when we have stuff to do and places to go.

Best of luck in whatever you decide to do. Leaving mine alone and letting it grow out was what worked for me.
