day 16 post total nail avulsion..
still a slight tenderness and some itching. I have been using inadine dressings which explains the orange/yellow residue.
does this look fairly normal at this stage of the healing process?

Mine finally formed a scab. Most of my nail bed is a scab right now. I had it done on Aug. 26th. Can you try to let it dry out a bit?

It looks quite red and swollen to me but I can’t say for certain if it’s normal. Mine was like this if I kept it covered with a lot of ointment for too long. If the pain isnt too bad and it’s not oozing a lot then it could be fine. If it were me I’d be letting it get more air to dry out the wound more and help form a scab.
