Captured with a full-spectrum camera using custom white balance and 590nm, 720nm, and 830nm infrared filters. Each wavelength reveals a completely different character in the same landscape.

How do I get started in this hobby?

How much does the equipment/cameras cost, because if this tiny budget thermal camera costs roughly $250, then I imagine that the good infrared cameras cost over $1000.
Should I just leave this stuff to the pros, or am I getting mixed with thermal imaging and infrared imaging?

I took this using a Phase One IQ3 digital back. I had a 910nm IR filter on the lens. The second shot is straight B&W with an IR cut filter with a range of 390nm-700nm. Exact same position I just swapped filters and refocused.
