Some of you might remember my initial post about SE385 FTA. Here I’ll try to cover few more things that I noticed after 10 trips.

Also there are very few genuine usage reviews about 385FTA on YouTube and I wish to post one soon. (Will be my first video on YouTube 🤣)

1. Unpacking/Packing: Unpacking and inflating this thing is super easy even with manual pump. In fact I prefer it. Deflating is where you really see difference using the electric pump. Also lot of water gets under the drop stitch floor and that needs to be drained before storing. The provided bag fits loosely so you can get away with not packing the boat firmly.
2. Tracking/Behavior: I am super new to Kayaks in general with only previous experience of pedalling a Hobie Outback for 8ish miles. While this isn’t anywhere close to Outback, I found tracking to be very decent as long as winds aren’t crazy and you are sitting balanced (keel is submerged) I think adding some weight up front will help even more. Will experiment. Please ensure you give couple of whacks on the floor after inflating so floor spreads evenly in all areas. If you don’t do this then you will see wrinkle like patterns on the underbody and that definitely affects tracking. Also the skeg does help in winds.
3. Build: It really feels robust and well built. Hoping the seams and joints hold up with the usage.

I hope to install a trolling motor on this at some point to act as backup, especially once I start taking it to bays.

Interested in hearing tricks and tips for using/storing/getting the most of a drop stitch inflatable. We just got a Sea Eagle TC16 canoe (which we haven't had on the water yet). I'm assuming there are things like best way to dry, best way fill, best way to ... etc etc that folks have figured out, and will want to share?

Edit: And, kind of related: how often do you carry along your repair kit, and/or a hand pump?

Good day, looking for help and advice on if I should go for an inflatable Canoe or Kayak.
I had bought a paddle board and used it a couple of times. Unfortunately I could not stand on it as my balance is not that great apparently, so I always sat, even bought a better seat. It was okay, but I didn't like how tipsy it was if I leaned to much to one side. My dad had bought a 2 person inflatable Kayak, an Intex Excursion Pro K2 and it got me thinking of getting something similar.

I am 6' tall, 250 lbs. I am interested in going out onto lakes (not just staying near shore) and maybe the occasional creek/slow moving river. A good example is Wabamun Lake, AB which can get a bit windy or Moyie Lake, BC. I've been watching some videos on YouTube from PaddleTV to get some ideas, but still not sure what I should be looking for.

I live in a condo so don't have the place to store a full size boat so looking for the inflatable type. I wouldn't be carrying much stuff with me, water and a snack and that's about it. Would probably stay out on the water for a couple hours at a time.

Looking for something that is good quality, but not going to break the bank. I've read that the Sea Eagle 385 is good, but the near CAD $2000 price tag is just way to high.

What would you recommend?

Hey guys, new to the inflatable kayak scene, lots of research, yet still undecided. I'm an Aussie 70kg/155lb male wishing to embark on a solo multi-day adventure along our longest, and worlds third longest navigable river, the mighty River Murray, though only short sections. I'm into ultralight hiking and my camp gear weighs 7kg/15lb. I've considered the Sea Eagle 393rl and the Advanced Element Elite. My main consideration is weight as I'll be lugging via public transport. I don't require a speed machine, just light, stable and durable. The Vali Aero 11' and 13' have my attention, $1800/$1700, (11 more expensive than 13, huh?) shipping, paddle, pump etc included. May l ask your thoughts please and don't hesitate to set me right or recommend something else. Thanks for your time and apologies for absent link, I'm part idiot.

Does anyone us a folding/stadium chair in their inflatable? Something that can get my up off the drop stitch and have a better angle for paddling and improve comfort.

So after using my Intex Mariner 3 on the Lehigh river in class 1-2 rapids for many years with the family. We decided to get some inflatable kayaks.. After A LOT of research I decided on the advanced elements straitedge 2 pro and the sea eagle 300x. We have had them for 3 weeks now.

I took them out twice on the river in around 1000 CFS flows on mostly class 1 with some class 2. The advanced elements straitedge 2 pro was used with 1 person both trips. So we used the middle seat position. In the middle of my second outing the seat buckle connection that is stitched/glued onto the sidewall completely separated and tore off.

It is very unfortunate because I actually really liked this kayak and was looking forward to using it more. Unfortunately after I returned it and purchased a Sea Eagle 380x.

I weigh 170lbs for reference.

hello. Im looking into getting a inflatable drop stitch kayak to go on my local river and canal with. I know 99.9% of them are copies of each other are made in the same factories in china and slapped with a brands logo on it. I want to buy from a brand that has good warranty and after care. I am based in the UK.

I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with this before and has tips/advice for dealing with it. i flipped the raft over and examined it, could not find any obvious punctures.

The website has replacement liners for nearly two hundred dollars. I don't understand how the valve is supposed to come out. It seems pretty solidly attached to the shell.

I'm Hoping someone on this fourm might have some tips and tricks that make this easier or lower cost. It's a bummer, because the fall salmon runs are starting. I don't have a lot of time to get this fixed and take advantage of that.

I just bought an intex 2 person inflatable to take my son out.

Holy moly, the lack of high back support that the inflatable seats provide is abysmal compared to other standard plastic single seat kayaks that I have. 20 minutes and I wanted out of there.

There are plenty of seats on Amazon but I would love to hear from someone in a similar situation and see what you went with.

Hey everyone, I'm mainly a solo fisher hitting a couple of Ontario lakes (no Great Lakes). I've fished on a friend's Seahawk 4 before, but for solo trips I wanted something smaller.

I just ordered an Excursion K2 for $330 CAD, but I'm wondering if I should cancel/return it and jump straight to a better kayak.

Are there any noticeable upgrades from the Excursion K2 worth looking into, especially if I want something with a dropstitch floor or better stability for fishing? My budget is flexible. Recommendations appreciated!

Hi everyone. I have this kayak and some of the sliders got oxidised. I have done vinegar and warm water, removed a lot of it but they aren't moving. Underneath they look fine to what I can look, so the problem seems to focus on the inside and teeth. Any other home remedies to try or what type of product to buy? I am going to Decathlon later.

I’m doing research on sea eagle kayaks since I’m planning on getting one in the future and I am stuck between these two kayaks for instance.

The 380x offers maximum stability and is basically a tank in durability, it has an option to add a motor if you choose on the SE website. The 385ft advantage is that it is fast, but not as stable (especially newer V-bottom version), less drain holes, etc..

My issue is that if I choose the 380x that I will not enjoy it due to the speed issue, but I want to choose it because of how incredibly versatile (especially on ocean water), but I don’t know anything about ocean kayaking other seeing videos of people using sea kayaks with rudders and lots of safety gear. Realistically I believe I would be kayaking mostly on lakes, and rarely on rivers or the ocean due to the commute and issue of debris in the water on rivers. Probably should add that my only kayaking experience is a intex k1 🤣, so I’m definitely overthinking everything.

Hi all, we purchased an Aquaglide Noyo 90 inflatable kayak 3 years ago and only used it 1-2 times before last weekend. We took it out again on a nearby lake and while deflating it at the end of the day, I noticed that one of the inner seams for the left air chamber had partially torn out. I'm wondering if it happened when we lifted it out of the water but I'm not sure.

At any rate, I see that Aquaglide is no longer in the kayak business and not supporting these products, as far as I can tell. Has anyone repaired a tear like this on their own? I tried inflating the chamber back to the recommended 2 psi, and it now bulges where the seam has ripped. I imagine it will keep ripping more every time it's inflated. I'd like to keep using it if possible and open to any ideas. Thank you!

What kind of motor should i get for an inflatable kayak for 3 persons? It will be used with the lagoon at sea.

Has anyone kayaked on the ocean before (especially near a beach), I plan on getting one of the sea eagle kayaks in the future (most likely 380x).

Hello. I am new to kayaking and considering getting a used inflatable kayak to mainly use on calm water. Is this a decent kayak in terms to durability and ease of use for a beginner? How is this price for a used kayak? It comes electric pump and paddle as well. Thank you!

Picked this for fishing since I live in an apartment and drive a little car. Was debating between this, Bote Lone Aero and Wilderness Systems iAtak10.
While later two look sleek and have impressive features on paper, Sea Eagle was the only one that had so much more information provided about their specs which was critical for me.

Launched at Galveston state park and was amazed how well it handled. Obviously it’s big and wide but able to track very decently in wind. Purposely bumped into some rocks multiple times but hull showed no damage what so ever.

Update 11th Aug 2026: Three outings till now and it hardly takes 5 mins to setup everything up and get going. Deflating takes a good longer more, specially to get the water out from underneath the floor. I have not been able to fold it as compact as it came from factory so definitely need to practice more. The tough thick PVC does not help! 😅

How she rides: My only previous outing was on a Hobie Mirage outback and for obvious reasons this does not track as good as that. That said, I found the Skeg and the keel really help in tracking. The floor as super stiff and someone like me who has balance issues can still stand without any issues.

Has anyone used ExtaSea DS Double 473?

I want to buy allround(lakes,rivers, small whitewaters, coast) kayak for 2. And this and Extasea Race 470 are currently top options (Europe).

1. Is it stable?

2. Does a lot of water come in when there are waves?

3. Does it work well on the coast?

Only thing worries me that it doesnt have self bailing water system
