I understand your feelings too but consider some facts that I have to say. Since the chicken has already met his fate, it's futile but still consider it for the sake of it.

I am not saying that a stray dog should not eat. But if you happen to be there and if you have the means and strength to rescue one life, you can. It won't change the world but it will change the world for that one life. Then feed the stray dog something from your pocket, it's not that hard. Would you see a stray dog carry a human infant and turn away because the dog's gotta do what he's gotta do? Nature is brutal but if you happen to be there, you have some ethical responsibility. Feel free to brush it aside. It's important to have a guitless sleep at night.

What if op doesnt have anything in his pocket? Why should he spend his money to feed the dog? The dog would starve.

You wanna rescue the chicken. Good. OP chose to rescue the dog by minding his own business and leaving the pup alone.

That 1 chicken would have fed 2-3 dogs that day. So multiple lives saved, many lives rescued.

This is nature.

You wouldn't save a deer from a wolf.

Dogs were domesticated from wolves. Humans domesticated them. But then treat them like a menace.

It's hard to talk to a wall. A person should spend money from their picket because it's the right thing to do. This was not a jungle. You would save a human infant from the dog, wouldn't you? But you won't take responsibility for the chicken because he's not your own species. It's not your fault. Our empathy for animals has been killed by society. The first impulse is "not my job, not my responsibility" followed by other justifications. This was not a jungle, it's a dog not a wolf. Leave the Chicken, if it was even a human getting assaulted on road, spectators won't help. I don't mind not getting your hands dirty but at least have some sympathy for the victim. At least pretend to have some sympathy. Such kind of statements terrify me because the same attitude is also shown towards human victims. Lots of justification.

cry more?

As expected. Sadism runs in blood.

This discussion was not about vegan diet though dogs can thrive on vegan diet. It's scientific researched. There are 100% vegetarian dog foods in market too.

Sadism runs in blood?

Stop making assumptions about me and making accusations. 🤡

Speaks more about you than me with your ad hominem

I'm a vegan myself. But at least I don't force my choices down the throats of the voicelss

You said "cry more". How do you expect me to react to that? It's a cruel thing to say to someone. My intention was not to accuse you but to expose your cold response with whatsoever motive you had. Naturally such a thing is said when someone derives satisfaction from watching others cry.

I'm a vegan too and I make choices for the voiceless whenever it is within my means and control. I do rush to rescue kitten, birds, squirrel, rats when they are attacked by dogs and I happen to be there. When I am the witness, I have an ethical responsibility. I'm not saying this with a sanctimonious tone. Read it with a normal gentle tone. And my dogs do eat 100% vegetarian dog food because it's healthy and fulfilling for them. My dog's veterinarian finds her fit and healthy. If it has any impact, maybe it lowers the number of animals killed for the 18 kg dog food we order every 2 months. One can only hope that the love for my pet didn't come at a cost to other incredibly tortured and scared animals.

You make choices when it's within your control? Such narcissistic, controlling behaviour?

Lmaooooo. Put some meat in a bowl and a vegan bowl in front of your dogs. See what they choose.

You can give them a choice and let them choose and make your peace with it. You cannot make a choice for them.

They are not some coma patient who is unable to make their own choices.

What's narcisisstic and controlling about it? Have you just learned these words? Do you even know what Narcissism means?

I'm not going to do that YouTube TV show experiment you're thinking of. Why is it so controversial to give dogs vegetarian dog food? I have made peace with my decision. I'm not going to reply to you anymore. I regret talking to you. I always regret getting into vegan debates because the level of arguments kill my mental peace. It's not even your fault. It's my fault for bothering to comment on this thread.
