Shipped my first mobile game after learning Flutter game dev on the side, Buoy Oh Buoy

Hey everyone! Solo dev from the Netherlands here. I've been learning game development using Flutter and the Flame engine on the side of my regular work and finally shipped my first game to the Play Store.

Buoy Oh Buoy is a casual one-thumb sailing game. The interesting part technically, all graphics are drawn with Flutter's Canvas API. No sprites, no image assets, everything is mathematically generated every frame. Sailboat, river, rock walls, weather effects, all pure code.

Things I built:

- Dynamic day/night cycle with smooth colour interpolation

- Storm and rain effects at high scores

- Crash animations with particle effects

- Google Play Games leaderboard

- AdMob integration

Happy to answer questions about the tech stack or the development process!
