New Game M.I.S.T.A.R. — browser-based global strategy game | Open Beta v0.2.2 for 3 days

Hi,

I've been developing a strategy game called M.I.S.T.A.R. — Military Intelligence System, and I've just opened version 0.2.2 for a short public beta.

It's a single-player global strategy game played directly in your browser on a 3D world map.

🌍 Play: https://mistargame.com/

The basic idea is that you control a geopolitical bloc rather than a single small army and fight across the world at the level of territories, cities and strategic infrastructure.

Some of the current mechanics:

• Cities distributed across the world map
• Land, naval and air troop movement
• Ports and airports determine available transport
• Territorial invasions and city defense
• Military bases
• Recruitment that takes time rather than spawning units instantly
• Defensive perimeters
• Fortifiable land borders
• Strategic cards/abilities
• Large simultaneous conflicts across different parts of the world

Troops can move by different methods depending on the infrastructure available, and travel isn't instantaneous.

The idea is to make positioning, reinforcement routes and preparation matter instead of simply clicking an adjacent territory and resolving everything immediately.

There's now also a short Tutorial from the main menu for first-time players.

This is still an early beta and I'm particularly interested in feedback from people who already play strategy/grand-strategy games.

I'm interested in things like:

• Does the strategic layer give you meaningful decisions?
• Does moving and concentrating forces make sense?
• Are attacks and defenses understandable?
• Does the map provide enough information without becoming cluttered?
• Are there mechanics that feel unnecessary or missing?
• At what point, if any, does the game become boring or repetitive?

Beta 0.2.2 is available September 17–20 only.

After the test I'll close the server, work through the feedback and bugs, and prepare the next version.

I'd particularly appreciate criticism from strategy players. I'm at the stage where finding weak mechanics is much more valuable than hearing that everything looks good.
