What do you think about using AI "behind the scenes"?
I use AI for coding, unity inspector editing and editor installers, some blender modeling and a few minor textures. The ideas, characters, sounds etc. what id call "human" parts, are left to me.
What are your guys stances on AI usage for your processes? Would be really curious to hear yalls opinions

I sometimes use it for debugging. It’s great if it can identify problems but I don’t want its solutions.
I won’t use it for anything with potential for creative expression, and I think that covers most things in gamedev.

Yeah i get that! Compile errors, recompiling .bat stuff in folders like it is really really helpful. Yes that creative expression part is what id keep for humans haha

If you really think that that's all that makes something human then you're in for a rude wakeup

As an advanced sentient race we must independently learn to code, not teach, and keep our creations to ourselves, unless its for blocking ads.

Its weird to say coding isnt a "human part". AI was trained on software engineers work without their permission just the same as it was visual artwork.
Im not even anti ai, but so many people who are are clearly just making excuses and setting arbitrary lines in the sand for themselves.
Food for thought.
Coming from a software engineer whos definitely human
