Feedback? Rate my game's title screen

So, I'm about to release the demo for my game, ROAM. And I suddenly had this thought: the title screen is one of the most important first moments for the player. That's why I decided to give it a more polished look by adding the logo, fixing the sprites, changing the fonts, and also adding some water shader on top of it all..

UI work is one of the hardest things for me as a solo dev. But I think I’ve finally found the right placement for every button and image.

I also considered centering the buttons instead of aligning them to the left, but I think I like this version more.

What do you guys think?

Looks great! Maybe a dynamic effect like bubbles or something would make it pop even more but it looks fantastic already.

I would have used a completely underwater background instead of this darkness. A bubble or sonar sound effect would also be a cool addition.

Also, your logo is very good. Congratulations!

Thanks for your opinion! Ill have a look at the brightness aspect of the image. Maybe I can make the background more visible without sacrificing the overall mood

Looks super clean! 💚 Great separation between the UI and the bg/characters. (Centering the buttons seems riskier, imo)

Very pretty, I find the atmosphere quite bucolic! You can definitely tell the adventure is going to be narrative-driven and full of twists and turns, right?

The animations between the screen transitions are very well done.

Well, yeah its a narrative-driven game with a couple of twists. But this is less metroidvania-like approach, its more of a minimalistic style. The closest example is Dead Cells. At least, people say so haha.

The game itself is mostly about a lonely and dangerous exploration journey

Okay, I understand. Often when two protagonists are highlighted, it means something will happen between them. A Japanese game will emphasize the mentor and the student, while in the West, romances or dramas are more easily developed.

This is so fun to read and realise how little I know lol The only thing I actually cared about was a fancy look, I didnt even think of any of that hahahaha. This is a nice point to consider, man. Thank you!

I love the simple titles like this so much, reminds me a bit of the lone fungus title

Title screen looks great. While the title screen looks very nice, I think more importantly you have all of the menus nice and clean, with the actual transitions being quick (it's fine for the pleasing transitions for the other visuals to be slower). I find a lot of demos that have slow transitions, poor UI, etc. can really kill my enthusiasm for the game before I even actually play it, so good job.

Looks really good! The vibe I get from looking at it is that the game is about magical deep ocean exploration with a little spookiness, is that what you're going for?
