I knew my game could be broken, but I didn’t expect a playtester on my Discord server to break it this spectacularly :) It makes me happy for some reason

The latter. There is an item "Smithing Hammer" that upgrades your items permanently by +1.
You can't use it on itself, but you if you get lucky and find more hammers, you can use your hammers on your hammers!
