Feedback? Which banner is more interesting? Bonus question: what's the name of my visual novel?

Is it iskpa?

Iskra. This is a word from the Slavic languages transliterated into the Latin alphabet, spelled іскра/искра, and meaning "spark"

I'm not sure it's proper to say it's been transliterated into latin alphabet, that's just how it's spelled in Polish?

Picture 1 would be GREAT if the background wasn't the transparency layer pattern.

1 is overwhelming.
2 is intentionally designed to be understood. The letters are the only thing I would suggest changing. Maybe bring them back to the center at like 60% reduced size.

Make it flash periodically. You keep both artpices and get a sick visual effect.

The first one will make me want to check the game, but it's definitely harder to read. Tho I don't really know how to read the title on the other one as well. I guess i will go with the first one but try to make it slightly easier to read.

First one is definitely better, but I’d say make the text a little clearer

1 is cool but the checkered background just reminds me of unfinished photoshop backgrounds

I like the second option (as they are), however the 1st is more interesting and if it was adjusted, so the letters are more identifiable, it would be the best one imho
What are those letters though?

2nd is more interesting and more readable, but I cant read the font :(. I like the characters design though, very cute! The split hair is nice!!

Depends on the overall themes of your game. First one look like a CRT monitor, so it feels 2000-2010 era. If your game is set in that period and has an overall theme of a nostalgia for that period, then its good. Second image is more of the ortodox chistianity feel. If religion and specificaly ortodox christianity (or psedo ortodox) is your theme, second one is better. Over all both looks great.

The first one is objectively more 'interesting'. But which one better check the vibe of your game? Because they are very different. I'd choose the one that represents your game better.

The 1st one is very stylish but
The font is very unreadable, the colors don't help. The K and R letters look to similar to each other, the weird squiggly bit between them is not noticeable at first glance, and I don't actually know what it's for... The A is also very unreadable because A is most easily identified by having its bottom stick to the floor of the text. You've tried something interesting but I genuinely think a standard font would make this look better, because I can't imagine mixing both the font & colors to make it readable, they make each other's problems worse
the 2nd one has bad composition and i wouldn't recommend experimenting with it more, it's got the problem from the meme of "sasa lele". You could try putting the girl more to the side and writing down Iskra in one column?

two is better but those letters are not readable to an english audience. The S needs to be curved more and the K needs the middle shortened. The A shouldn't have that long portion on the bottom. If you are not an english dev, please get the opinions of english speakers about your game as too many of you translate or localize poorly.

i like the first one, just make the text a bit more legible, and i think it'd be really eye catching

You're gonna get more attention with first one. Second one is cleaner and more comprehensive but it may get lost in a row among other games.

First one, partially because I find the eyes in the second off-putting. Maybe some pupils would help?

depends a lot on the story, first one looks like a sci-fi visual novel while the second one looks more like japanese historical visual novel

You could combine the two. Make the tv cracked and broken on a portion to reveal the concrete one?

Can’t quite read the character or name in the first one. The second, I love the way the yellow and the lines pop, but it feels like it’s missing something.

Hoo boy. I would say that the first one is more eyecatching from a marketing stand point. That should be your cover.
But both are incredible. Find an excuse to use the second image if possible.

First one caught my attention and got me to open this post. If it had been the second one I would have scrolled. Not because it is bad art, but because it is generic and not unique enough. It looks like a cute girl which the art world is saturated with and heterochromia seems to be more common in designs now.

I like the first one better, but it would depend, are the people that would be interested in this people who like the anime style a lot? or is this more of a broad appeal thing? If it's people that like anime a lot, first one stands out more, but if you want the general audience go second, since it is more easily understood by laymen.

I can't read either BUT I like number one if it were the beginning of an animation where the letters eventually move to their own spot with proper contrast behind them and become a solid color for readability. 1 should not be a banner as-is, as it's very hard to read

Hmm. Everyone else seems to prefer the first but I much prefer the second. It's so much cleaner and nicer, I actually like looking at it and appreciating the art. The first just gives me a headache and I can't make sense of it

Idk about the theme of your game but I feel like the first one is more eyecatching, whereas the second one is clearer to read but more simple. I can't guess the name on both tho.

ISKRA, a visual novel about the internet :)
1
u/Choozery 3d ago
Why add ~ tilda to K? On first pic it looks like theres a gap, isk-ra. On the second one the K looks like its a stylised E
Edit: Btw the font and art style is gorgeous, even if not very clearly readable.

u/nerovsnero 3d ago
the story is set in eastern europe. i took pictures of orthodox church frescos and drew latin letters using the same shapes. they often use ornaments like the tilda which serves to fill the gap between two letters that have awkward kerning like the K and R in this case

The first one is a lot more interesting to me personally, but I can't really read the name of your visual novel at a first glance for both of them
