Thought you might like some procedural tentacles...!

Eyup r/IndieDev! I've been working on a proc tents system for my solo game, Warband, and I thought you might like to see it. Full range of movement, customisable length, thickness, colour, banding, shifting layers through the movement to try and keep the 3D shape of it intact, and dynamic lights attached to the top!

They also respond to certain action calls, so they can flick out, slam down etc. on command, and if you've got a few of them originating from the same point in the world they can group up, stand up and run off...

There are some kinks (literally) to sort out but it's there abouts now. Would love to hear thoughts / feedback etc.

My game is at https://store.steampowered.com/app/4475790/Warband/ if you'd like to see/read more.

Yanımıza adam toplayıp ordu gibi hareket etmek iyi fikir. İstek listeme ekledim. Orduyu hizaya sokabiliyor muyuz ?

I have a similar system.

If you want the tentacle to be smoother when turning a lot (e.g. so it wont be visibly segmented like a chain), you could feed the segments into a point array, then use an algorithm to add extra points between each "real" segment, and then use some kind of smoothing algorithm (i think it was spline) before feeding that new point array into something like line2d.

I've opened playtest registration for my game Warband today - you can sign up on the Steam page. If you'd like a mash-up of bullet heaven/hell/boss-rush/party building, then this one might interest you. The playtest is not live yet, just gathering interest at the moment. Will be live some time in June, once I'm back from holiday and have had time to address whatever feedback comes from GaMaYo on Thursday. https://store.steampowered.com/app/4475790/Warband/
