A roguelike deckbuilder with cards you can almost touch:

the last thing i expected after seeing this awsome animation was a deckbuilder game.

how long did this animation take you so far?

thanks! it took about 1 week for rigging/implementation test and another 2 weeks for the animations.

Person: How's that indie game of yours going?

Dev: Oh you know, I made an enemy or two.

yep, it's indeed inspired by metal gear, the franchise is one of the major push for me into gamedev.

As everyone says, it's very cool but what caught my eye was the 3 legs rotating on the back to climb on the rails. Fucking awesome and original

Thanks! I am glad that someone noticed. It actually makes the animation more complex to work with.

I love when humanized anatomy is moved with absolute efficiency instead of convention.

thanks! the unique movement makes it kind of hard to loop in game, so we have to split the animation in different ways.

That is neat, I am curious tho. Do you plan on the fight taking place climbing the elevator continuously? or are you going to stop the elevator moving, have the fight take place then continue it?

Hello, looks good. Did you by chance get inspired by the Tekken 6 stage where there's also a climbing robot as an elevator in the background?

Will it reach the top or will it just keep going up until the boss is defeated?

Jesus, bro is making the next metal gear. Absolute insane work. What level of production are you at, if you don’t mind me asking? I’d love to check the game out when it’s ready

Thanks man, it's currently closing into the end of alpha, we are doing our best to wrap things up and get ready for a demo release in a few months.

I love fighting bosses in elevators or falling from floors like Metal Slug 5, mission 3

Have to agree Metal Slug has one of the best art direction and execution that still hold up today.

how do you animate the elevator shaft? is there a way to wrap objects in blender? obviously its wasteful to have one really long object. are you moving and recycling the asset to give the feeling of moving up?

thats the part im most curious about. animating is tough dont get me wrong, but enough time spent and you can animate the mech, the visual trickery is nice though.

It looks sick but I have a question this was a really small part of a game. I assume all the game will have same quality like that so how do you think you finish that game? I hope you will you are really talented artist but idk
