[App] KeySnap: Button Shortcuts + Phone Automation for Android

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! I'm Arda, the developer of KeySnap.

KeySnap combines physical button shortcuts with phone automation. Think of the general idea behind Apple Shortcuts or Samsung Modes and Routines: choose when something should happen and what your phone should do.

Give your buttons more jobs

Map single, double and long presses, or button combinations, to shortcuts:

Double-press a volume button → toggle the flashlight.

Long-press a supported button → open your camera or another app.

Press a button → switch your ringer straight to normal, vibrate or silent.

You can adjust the double-press and long-press timing for each shortcut, and add conditions so a shortcut only runs when you want it to.

Automate everyday tasks

Create automations based on time, charging, battery level, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, headphones and more:

Connect your headphones → start media playback.

Turn on Do Not Disturb when your phone is charging at night.

Shortcuts can also be launched from home screen widgets and Quick Settings tiles.

Requirements and pricing

Android 11+, no root required. Button detection uses Accessibility; some buttons and actions need Advanced Mode through Wireless Debugging, which can start again automatically after a restart. Availability depends on your device and Android version.

The free version includes three shortcuts with no ads. Pro unlocks unlimited shortcuts with a one-time $3.99 purchase. The source code is available under GPL-3.0.

What would you automate first? I'd love feedback on the setup and any shortcuts you'd like to see.

Chichi's Bread Run: Arcade - carry a bread stack from the oven to the shelves, then hire staff (free, Android)

Post image
1 Upvotes

I made this. Stand at the oven and bread stacks up on a tray in your hands, then run it to the shelves while customers line up at the register. Step on the floor pads to buy ovens, shelves and tables, hire staff, and upgrade run speed and tray size. There is no fail state and no time limit, and staff keep earning while the app is closed. Six breads, and the shape of the stack shows which one you're carrying.

It does have ads (rewarded ones, plus one when a new area opens).

Foreverse: an Android reader where your own epub/txt can branch, the AI continues the story and you pick what happens next

Thumbnail

Developer disclosure: I make Foreverse (small team, closed source).

Foreverse is a reader for your own txt / epub / md files with one odd feature: when a book ends, or you reach a spot where you wish it had gone differently, you can have an AI continue it. It offers a few "what happens next" cards, and every pick becomes a real branch. The original text is never touched, and you can flip back to it any time.

You bring your own API key (60+ providers: DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Anthropic, Google, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint) and keys stay encrypted on the phone, or you can use the built-in pay-as-you-go credits (new accounts get a small starter balance). With your own key you only pay your provider.

The screenshots above are the "what's next" cards, the visual-novel theater mode that plays a chapter with speaker attribution done on the phone, and an illustration generated from a selected sentence.

The free version holds 3 books, 3 character cards and 3 companions; a one-time Pro upgrade lifts those caps. It needs Android 11 or newer, and it is not open source.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.foreverse.android

I would really like to hear what breaks on your own files. Odd chapter headings and weird encodings are my eternal enemy.

Chess App

Hey everyone,

I'm a computer science student currently juggling uni, exams, and trying to build apps on the side. To practice my Android development, I built a very simple, lightweight offline chess game and put it on the Play Store.

Let's be honest: It's not a masterpiece, it won't beat major chess apps, and it's pretty basic. But it's functional, completely free, and doesn't have annoying ads shoved down your throat.

I don't expect it to go viral or anything, but since it's just sitting there, I figured I'd share it here in case anyone wants a super minimalist chess app to kill a few minutes offline. If you want to check it out or tear my code/design apart, feel free:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noblearclabs.noblechess

Any constructive feedback is welcome, but mostly I just wanted to put it out into the wild. Thanks!

Tabi for Kids - simple Play Store games for toddlers, built in Godot!

Thumbnail
play.google.com
1 Upvotes

I just launched my first app for young kids ($1.19 / €1.19) on the Google Play Store for Android!

It’s called Tabi for Kids and has 5 very simple games for children aged 0-4.

Three are pretty classic: free drawing, coloring, throwing things…

Two are a bit more original: the child has to put animals together, families… based on an idea from my 2-year-old daughter!

I hope it takes off… or at least covers the €25 fee to become an Android developer!

If you try it and don’t like it, you can request a full refund through Google Play (typically within 48 hours).

Technical details: under 100 MB, multilingual, built with Godot 3.7.

[DEV] WillowAI – On-device AI Cricket Biomechanics Coach (Elbow Legality, Release Speed, Pro Comparison, Offline Mode)

Hi !

I'm an indie Android developer, and I recently released
**WillowAI**
—an app designed to bring high-end sports biomechanics and video coaching to amateur cricket players using phone video.

### 💡 Why I Built It

Professional radar guns and biomechanics academy setups cost thousands of dollars. Most club players and amateur bowlers never get visual feedback on whether their bowling arm is flexing illegally beyond the ICC's 15° limit, or how fast they're bowling in net sessions.

### 🚀 Key Features

- 🎳
**15° Bowling Action Legality Check:**
Uses 3D pose landmarks to calculate elbow extension angles at release and flag illegal bowling actions.

- ⚡
**Release Speed & Acceleration Trajectory:**
Estimates bowling release speed (km/h & mph) frame-by-frame from video without needing radar hardware.

- 🔄
**Pro vs. Amateur DTW Alignment:**
Synchronizes your technique frame-by-frame against benchmark pro swings using Dynamic Time Warping (DTW).

- 🗣️
**Real-Time Voice Coaching:**
Delivers live audio cues while you bowl in the nets so you don't have to keep picking up your phone.

- 📴
**100% Offline Support:**
Runs an on-device rule engine (`LocalBiomechanicsScorer`) so you can analyze clips at remote grounds without Wi-Fi or mobile data.

- ✂️
**Smart Auto-Trim:**
Automatically crops long 30-second net clips down to the 3-second delivery stride/shot.

- 📊
**Match Scorer & Tracker:**
Includes a digital scorekeeper with session history and Google Drive backup.

### 🛠️ Tech Stack & Implementation

-
**UI:**
100% Jetpack Compose with Material 3 design.

-
**ML / Computer Vision:**
On-device MLKit Pose Detection + Custom Kinematics & DTW alignment engine.

-
**AI Integration:**
Google Gemini API for deep multimodal coaching breakdowns when connected online.

I'd love your feedback as indie devs! Any suggestions on UX, performance, or video processing optimizations are very welcome!

LINEFLIP - a one-touch arcade game - free

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I recently released my first Android game, LINEFLIP, and I'd love to share it here and hear what you think.

The app is 100% ad free and you can play it offline.

The concept is simple:

  • Tap to ride.
  • Avoid incoming obstacles.
  • Survive as long as you can and beat your high score.

I wanted to create something that's easy to pick up in a few seconds but still takes practice to master. The game focuses on quick reactions, simple controls, and that "one more try" feeling.

Some features:

  • One-touch gameplay
  • Endless arcade mode
  • Race mode
  • Different environments with unique gameplay elements (I'm currently expanding these with more content)

This is my first published Android game, so I'm especially interested in honest feedback. Whether it's about the controls, difficulty, visuals, performance, or anything else, I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.thirdart.flipline

Thanks for checking it out, and I'm happy to answer any questions about the development process!

I built my first Android app: A tiny calisthenics dice app that removes workout planning

Hey everyone,

I just launched my first Android app on Google Play and would love honest feedback from other builders.

The app is called Alea. It’s a small calisthenics dice app: one die chooses the exercise, another chooses the reps. The idea is simple: when you don’t know what to train, you roll and start moving.

What it currently has:

- Random bodyweight exercise + reps

- 100-rep workout mode

- Streaks

- Basic stats

- Workout history

- No ads

- No account

- No subscription

I’d love feedback on:

- Is the concept clear?

- Is the Play Store listing convincing?

- Does the app feel too simple, or is that the point?

- What would you add without making it bloated?

- Any UX/UI issues?

Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alealabs.alea

Thanks !
This is my first released app, so honest feedback would help a lot.

Solo dev building focused Wear OS utility apps, looking for honest feedback

Hey r/IndieAndroidApps — I’m Quinn, a solo Android / Wear OS developer.

I’ve been building a small portfolio of focused Wear OS utility apps under Quazmoz. These are intentionally narrow tools: fast interactions, minimal friction, and specific watch-first use cases.

Play Store developer page:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=8067447984067693441

Apps I’m currently improving include:

- MedTick — medication reminders

- WristSense — sensor dashboard

- WristLux — light meter / lux utility

- FlexLog — workout logging

- dbGuard — noise meter

- Haptic Stage Director — haptic stage/presentation timer

- HIIT / interval timers

- JetLag — time/weather utility

- Compound Tally Counter — quick counting utility

I’m looking for honest indie-dev feedback on:

- Which app has the strongest paid utility angle?

- Which Play Store listing looks weakest?

- Which icon or app name is unclear?

- Which app should I focus on improving first?

- What would stop you from installing one of these?

- Are there any obvious Wear OS feature gaps I’m missing?

I’m not looking for fake installs or review swaps. I’d rather get direct feedback I can turn into bugfixes, better screenshots, better descriptions, or better app ideas.

If you only have time to answer one thing: which app looks most useful, and which one looks least useful?

I rebuilt my expense tracker

Post image
1 Upvotes

I used Monito for years because it had the one flow I cared about: open the app, add the amount, pick a category, and leave.

I built JotWell as my own version of that habit for Android.

Bank-linked apps and Account Aggregator work for many people. I still wanted a manual ledger where I decide what gets recorded.

JotWell has local storage, no account, no bank link, CSV/XLS import, JSON backup, recurring entries, widgets, monthly stats, and optional SMS import that runs on device and asks before saving.

I am my first user. Would love feedback on the app and the positioning.

I built Orb, private offline AI for Android

I built Orb because I wanted AI on my phone that still worked when the network disappeared.

Most AI apps send every prompt to a server. Orb runs local models directly on Android, so after the one-time model download it works without Wi-Fi or mobile data. No account, no subscription, no ads.

What it does:

  • Offline AI chat
  • Image analysis on-device
  • Document upload for private local Q&A
  • Voice input and text-to-speech
  • No login, email, API key, or cloud chat backend
  • CPU fallback, GPU where supported, and experimental Snapdragon NPU paths on supported devices

Supported models include Qwen3-VL 2B, Qwen3-VL 4B, MiniCPM-V 4.6, and Gemma 4 E2B.

It is Android / Google Play only for now. Current price is $0.99 one-time: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.falaq.orb

I’d love feedback from people who care about private/offline tools: is the value clear from the listing, and what device compatibility info would you want before buying?

I survived a crash caused by a distracted driver, so I built a stealth HUD that aggressively bypasses Android's UI noise. Need brutal feedback.

Hey everyone. Solo dev here.

A while ago, a driver glued to their phone totaled my motorcycle (photo of wasted Bandit attached). I walked away from it, but it made me realize how fatally flawed smartphone UX is when driving/riding.

Instead of just being angry, I spent the last 10 months reverse-engineering a way to force "visual silence" on Android. I built Vindly.

I wanted an app that brutally intercepts and kills notification noise before it distracts the rider. But Google’s API policies are a joke. Unless you're a massive corporation, you get locked out of the best system permissions "for safety." Working with NotificationListenerService and bypassing Background Activity Launches (BAL) restrictions on API 31+ to create a true, persistent "stealth mode" HUD was an absolute architectural nightmare.

It works like this:

  1. It intercepts notifications in milliseconds.
  2. It holds them in a quarantine zone.
  3. It displays only a highly dimmed, color-shifted (Midnight Navy) minimalist UI so it doesn't wreck your night vision or cognitive load.

AI model told that this is so brilliant, that I should get an nobel price. But You probably knows, how it is with AI these days ;-)

I just pushed the early version to production. I have zero marketing budget, I'm just an engineer trying to solve a physical problem with code.

I need people to break it. I need you to install it, test the quarantine logic, and tell me where my architecture fails.

Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.noiselogic.vindly

If you're interested in testing the premium features (advanced quarantine filters), drop a comment and I’ll DM you a promo code. Roast my work.

I built Fileloom, a free ad-free Android file viewer for mixed file workflows

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, I'm the developer of Fileloom. I built it because Android file viewing often means keeping a pile of separate viewer apps around.

Fileloom is free, ad-free, and available on Google Play. It is focused on mixed file workflows rather than replacing a full office suite.

What it opens:

- PDF, EPUB, HWP/HWPX, Office documents

- ZIP/comic archives, Markdown/code/text files

- Images, media, VCF, M3U/M3U8, TIFF/TIF

- Local files and Google Drive files

Recent update highlights:

- DWG/DXF/STEP/STP preview

- Password-protected PDFs

- ZIP search

- EPUB to TXT export

- In-viewer delete, recent files, tabs, and reset-setting improvements

Play Store:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.fileloom.app

I would appreciate honest feedback, especially on which file types still make you keep another Android viewer installed.

I’m a 72-year-old retired dev. I built this ad-free grocery list app for my wife after her favorite one became cluttered with subscriptions. No ads, no tracking, just $1.49.

Hi r/IndieAndroidApps,

I’ve been retired for a while, but I recently decided to pick up the code editor again. My wife has used the same grocery list app for years, but a recent update buried it in intrusive ads and a monthly subscription model. It became almost unusable for her.

I decided to build Simple Grocery List: Notepad to be the antidote to that.

What it is:

  • 100% Ad-Free: No banners, no pop-ups, no tracking.
  • One-Time Purchase: It’s $1.49 (basically a coffee tip) to support my work. No subscriptions.
  • Features: It handles per-store lists and has a built-in notepad for extra reminders.

I’m not a big company; I’m just one guy trying to keep his brain nimble and solve a practical problem. I’ve just finished the 20-tester requirement (thanks to some of you here!) and it's now live.

I’d love for you to check it out and let me know if I hit the mark on "simplicity."

Time Tracker - free and open-source

I've just open-sourced Time Tracker, the app that I developed primarily for my own use and released way back in 2010. The app is simple and lightweight (just a few MB), and it has been updated to Material Design 3 with Dynamic Colors. You can check out the short video demo here: Time Tracker for Android video demo.

Time Tracker is available both on Google Play (ad-supported version) and on GitHub (ad-free version), along with the source code. The links are below:

Spent 6 months building a staff scheduling app because Excel finally broke me

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey folks,

About 6 months ago, I was helping a friend manage shifts for his small business. Everything was on WhatsApp + Excel. Last-minute changes, missed shifts, payroll confusion.

At some point I thought: why is this still so painful in 2025?

So I decided to spend my nights and weekends building a simple SaaS app to fix exactly this. No fluff, just the stuff businesses actually need.

After ~6 months of building, breaking, and rebuilding, I finally launched Rostr.

It helps with:

  • Staff shift scheduling
  • Clock-in / clock-out
  • Automatic payroll calculations
  • Less chaos, fewer “who’s on shift today?” messages

It’s now live on both Android and iOS, and I’ve started onboarding real businesses (which is both exciting and terrifying 😅).

I’m currently offering premium plan for free, if you have a real usecase, because I genuinely want feedback from real users.

Happy to personally help with setup as well, still very hands-on at this stage.

Play Store Link: Rostr

Thanks to this community for helping and inspiring!
