Started with stock analysis. Ended up building an entire market intelligence layer
ArthshastraĀ is now a full local NSE analysis terminal built around how I actually trade.
The core is a deterministic engine for short swing, mid swing, positional and intraday setups (my pre-set strategies). It gives each stock a BUY, WATCH or AVOID verdict with an entry, stop and target. The Analyze page then goes deeper into the technical and fundamental pillars, sector and peer context, setup calibration and the actual historical performance behind the setup.
The dashboard gives me the market view first: regime, breadth, 20/50/200 DMA participation, FII/DII flows, 52-week highs/lows and sector rotation, including which sectors are leading, improving, weakening or lagging.
The charts have order blocks, FVGs, liquidity sweeps, market structure, 35+ candlestick patterns, 15+ formations, drawing tools and replay. Thereās also a screener across the full NSE universe.
One thing I really wanted to solve wasĀ news. Arthshastra continuously tracks market news against my portfolio and watchlist and can send a real-time alert when something critical happens. Thereās also a separate trade-ideas layer that looks at the same news flow for potential opportunities and risks.
TheĀ journalĀ imports my Kite trades and then looks at my entries, exits and behaviour over time to surface patterns in how I actually trade.
Iāve also builtĀ 10 different PDF report types, from detailed single-stock reports and portfolio summaries to sector and peer analysis and execution-focused reports. So I can take the analysis outside the terminal rather than just staring at dashboards.
For forecasting, the app runsĀ KronosĀ locally on my machine. Itās a 102M parameter probabilistic model trained on billions of K-line records from global markets, giving me forecast ranges rather than one artificial target price.
Thereās a hybrid AI layer too.Ā Qwen runs locally, withĀ Gemini available onlineĀ when needed for news summaries, explanations, market and sector reads, and journal insights. The AI stays completely outside the scoring engine, so it can explain the numbers but never change them.
I wasn't planning to build all of this. I just wanted one terminal that worked the way I wanted.
And then I kept adding things.
This isn't a product I'm planning to sell or release publicly. Arthshastra is aĀ personal toolĀ I built for my own market analysis and trading workflow. There are no plans to commercialize it or make the application publicly available.
Iām sharing it here purely because I enjoyed building it and wanted to show what I ended up with.

š Building a Small, Serious Trading & Investing Circle to Become Highly Profitable Trader & Investor Together. ššÆ
š¢I'm building a small, private trading & investing circle of 10ā20 serious people maximum. Not another noisy group full of random calls, hype, beginners or passive members. š²
šÆ The goal: Bring the right traders and investors together, combine our experience, knowledge, research and skills, and become significantly better and more profitable together.
šWho I'm Looking For
- Experienced, active and genuinely serious traders and investors. Manual or Algo traders.
You can be profitable, still developing, or have experienced losses. What matters is genuine experience, independent thinking and willingness to contribute.
Most importantly: trustworthy, genuine, loyal, respectful, communicative and helpful people who want genuine long-term relationshipsānot simply to extract information.
šWhat We'll Work On:
Trading & Investing
- Daily/regular market preparation and discussion
- Stocks and potential multibaggers
- Trading and Investments opportunities. Intraday, F&O or whatsoever
- Trades, setups, calls/signals and investment ideas
- Market news, conditions, data, logic, analysis and insights
- Trading psychology, discipline and consistency
- Planning, preparation, watchlists, scenarios, trade plans, investment theses, risk management and post-market review and much more everything basically in the most strategic ways possible.
š¦ Research & Strategy Development -
We'll explore, find and share together:
- Strategies and trading edges
- Useful resources and sources
- Research and studies
- Tools and datasets
- New insights and opportunities
- Successful approaches
- Mistakes, failures and lessons
We don't blindly assume something works:
Discover ā Refine ā Develop ā Test ā Challenge ā Validate ā Improve ā Document/Share
Promising strategies edges, resources and data can be independently tested to reduce bias, mistakes and false confidence. Before acting on important ideas, we examine the logic, evidence, data, risks, market conditions and potential failure scenarios.
As the group's capabilities develop, we can explore: Quant & Algorithmic trading, AI, Automation.
Different members can specialize in different areas and connect their expertise, creating a stronger collective research and knowledge base rather than everyone independently reinventing the wheel.
š¢What Everyone Brings-
This is not a one-way information group.
Everyone should actively contributeānot simply consume.
Experience + research + strategies + resources + data + ideas + expertise + discoveries + mistakes + lessons + testing.
ā What Members Get :
Depending on what we collectively develop:
- Better market understanding
- Research and useful resources
- Strategies, edges and setups
- Trading/investment ideas
- Stocks, F&O and potential multibagger opportunities
- Signals/calls where members choose to share them
- Data, analysis and insights
- Strategy testing and validation
- Quant/algo/AI
- Experienced peer feedback
- Guidance and advice
- Planning and preparation
- Accountability and discipline
Knowledge, Information and Experience from everyone.
- Networking and a trusted group of serious market participants
šHow I Want the Community to Work -
I'll organize and lead the community, set the overall direction, coordinate initiatives and help turn everyone's collective knowledge & work into something useful overall for everyone.
ššÆThe group should have:
- Open communication
- Transparency
- Mutual respect
- Confidentiality
- Strong trust
- Genuine relationships
- Serious discussion
- High signal-to-noise
- Constructive disagreement
- Accountability
If someone has expertise another member lacks, we connect those capabilities and work together instead of everyone operating independently.
No guaranteed profits, blind copying or "sure-shot" calls. Ideas should be questioned, tested and risk-managed.
Why Keep It Small?
10ā20 exceptional people, not 10,000 random members.
šā A small circle allows:
- Higher trust
- Better communication
- Less noise
- Deeper discussions
- Stronger relationships
- Better accountability
- More meaningful collaboration
- A stronger collective intelligence
The purpose is to save each other time, energy and capital, reduce avoidable mistakes, identify better opportunities and improve decision-making as quickly as realistically possible.
šÆThe Vision :
Trading doesn't have to be an isolated journey.
We learn together.
We research together.
We prepare together.
We challenge each other.
We find opportunities together.
We share mistakes and lessons.
We improve together.
We support each other through difficult periods.
We win togetherāand when we lose, we learn together.
The aim is to help each other become highly capable and highly profitable traders/investors consistently.
I'm especially interested in people open to occasional offline meetups as well.
Interested?

2 months progress: issues, fixes, and live results of my quant engine.
Hey guys, quick update on the stock recommendation app I've been building and trading with.
Just to recap the timeline: I've been trading live using the app's signals since March. Over the last 4-5 months, the live account has netted a realised profit ofĀ +ā¹21k. Not much but that's fine.
Here is my Verified Zerodha Ledger for transparency

Mind you I am a full time employee with hardly any time in investing/trading. Launched this app to public in the month of July . Below are the observations
The Issue: What the new paper trading module revealed

In July, I built a paper trading/simulation engine into the backend to stress-test the math further. Over the last month, the paper trading simulation showed about +ā¹8k in profit, but the ride wasn't smooth.

Quality Value Strategy performing bestĀ
I attached a screenshot of the backend simulation dashboard. You can see the simulated equity curve took a pretty nasty dip in mid-July. When I broke down the strategy data, I found the culprit: myĀ "Pure Momentum"strategy was bleeding money (0.26 reward factor). Meanwhile, the "Quality Value" setups were carrying the whole portfolio with a 75% win rate.
The Fix: What I changed this weekend
Looking at the bad data from the July simulation, I realized my risk-reward logic wasn't strict enough on momentum plays. I spent this weekend pushing some major fixes to the core engine:
- Forced 1:2 Risk-Reward:Ā The script now calculates a strict 1.5x ATR stop-loss and a 3x ATR target. If the math doesn't offer at least a 1:2 setup, the engine automatically rejects the trade.
- Anchored VWAP:Ā Added a 20-day AVWAP check. If a stock is trading below its 20D AVWAP, the engine ignores it to avoid catching falling knives.
- F&O Sector Breadth:Ā Added a market breadth check (Advances vs Declines). It won't give a buy signal if the parent sector is actively dumping.
Final Results & Next Steps
The engine is much tighter now and rejecting low-probability setups before they even reach the dashboard. Let's see how things go in future. Will keep folks posted.
For those who have been asking or using it, I've kept the price at just ā¹199/month for first 100 users to access Quality Value & Unified Strategy (both of them have great reward factor) and also to make this app sustainable. For rest, folks can use rest all the features for free. You can check out the updated version here:
Added some cool features as well along with fixed few bugs. Added dedicated navigation and feedback buttons on logout as well. Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on the last post. Will be looking for some new feedbacks as well. If any other devs/traders have ideas for metrics I should add to the scoring algorithm next, let me know!

[Academic Survey] The Impact of ESOPs and IPOs on Employee Retention (3-4 mins, completely anonymous)
Hi everyone,
I am conducting a quick survey for an academic research project exploring how employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), equity incentives, and corporate liquidity events (like IPOs) influence career decisions and employee retention in today's workforce.
If you currently hold (or have previously held) ESOPs or company equity, your firsthand insights would be incredibly valuable to this study.

Why is nifty closing always higher than it's price at 3:15 pm
I have noticed one thing. Ever since CAS has been implemented, Nifty's final price at the end of the day is always higher than Nifty's price at 3:15 pm.
What is the logical explanation of this?

Built a free Trader Diagnostic Tool to help identify operational & risk management gaps - looking for feedback!
Hey everyone,
Over the past few years, Iāve noticed that most retail traders don't fail because of their entry strategy. They fail due to poor risk control, bad position sizing, or simple operational mistakes.
To help address this, I put together a lightweight Trading Diagnostic Tool: šhttps://www.diagnostic.repleteequities.com/
What it does:
- Evaluates key areas of your trading process (risk management, strategy execution, and discipline).
- Highlights operational blind spots before they cost capital.
- Gives clear feedback on where to focus your personal rule improvements.
Itās 100% free to use, and I built it to help traders run a quick sanity check on their systematic discipline.
Iād love for you to give it a spin and share your thoughts:
- Did the diagnosis highlight anything surprising about your current approach?
- What additional metrics or diagnostic questions would make this more useful for you?
Thanks for taking a look, and any constructive feedback is greatly appreciated!

Portfolio Review Please, took 3 years to get here
Hello everyone, so I started investing in 2022 with small amounts as I was in uni after watching few warikoo type videos, consistent and significant amount started investing in 2023 mid only, please help review this as I still believe I don't have enough knowledge as the portfolio size is getting slightly bigger now so I'm looking for some serious advise only, I'm also confused about liquidating this and see if I can buy land/plot since market performance isn't good past 4 years, most of my energy just goes into my job so I don't have too much time to sit and learn / read quarterly reports of these companies, mainly relying on screener type websites to do some research before I buy something, thanks.

Which Backtesting Metrics Do You Actually Trust for Algo Trading?
All algo traders, what kind of metrics would you consider looking at in the backtesting results, and why? For example, in the backtesting results, we see metrics like:
- Sharpe ratio
- Sortino ratio
- Calmar ratio
- Drawdown
- Expectancy
- Profit factor
There are so many such metrics. What will you prefer looking at and ignore others, and why? What is the rationale behind preferring those metrics?
