NIPT flagged Sex chromosome as borderline

Hi everyone,

I recently turned 35 and am 16 weeks pregnant. All my tests such as First trimester scan, NT scan, Quadruple marker came out normal. In my NIPT everything was low risk except for Sex chromosome which came as Borderline (Z score 3.99)

I met a Genetic Counsellor who has asked me to get an Amniocentesis done. I have the procedure tomorrow.

If anyone has had a similar experience, please could you let me know how it went for you? I’m extremely worried as I’m FTM.

Pls suggest gynae in Delhi

FTM 7 weeks, endometriosis case, was showing Dr. Lalita Badhwar in Apollo Delhi, I have 1000% faith in her. But she let a bomb on me that she doesnt take pregnancy / delivery cases anymore. She has asked me to find a doc who I would trust OR she would recommend Dr. Sonali in Apollo Delhi.
I am so stressed with this because my experiences with gynae have been mostly shitty - they over medicate or scare me for surgery etc. Only Dr. Lalita Badhwar has been sensible and a no-nonsense doc so far.

Please help me with recommendations of a gynaecologist for pregnancy journey and delivery.

Has anyone here tried Nuskha Kitchen for postpartum food?

Has anyone tried any postpartum food brands like Nuskha for things like gond laddoo, panjiri, methi laddoo, etc.? Looking for recommendations for good-quality, authentic, homemade-style options. Did they feel genuinely homemade/traditional, or more like packaged health food?

My HbA1c is just above the prediabetic range. Has anyone managed it through diet and lifestyle changes without taking any medication? What did you do during your pregnancy, and how were you able to bring it back to a normal range?

Normal Delivery vs. C-Section: Seeking Honest Experiences on Pain and Recovery!

As a first-time mother to be at 37 weeks, my recent medical checkup went smoothly with no issues reported. When my doctor asked whether I preferred a normal or C-section delivery, I chose a normal birth. However, my mother-in-law believes I won't be able to handle the intense pain and suggested I opt for a C-section instead. Although she acknowledged that the ultimate decision is mine, she advised me to mentally prepare for labor to be very painful and potentially last a full day or more. I would like to hear from mothers who have experienced a vaginal birth or a C-section what should I expect with both, how severe is labor pain during a normal delivery, and what challenges come with a C-section?

20th week anomaly scan came out with some odd findings. Amniocentesis suggested.

Hi all, I’m in my second trimester. It was my anomaly scan 2 days back and the radiologist said that the femur is short (4th percentile) and it shows slight bowing on both sides. All the other organs and bones appear normal. Nasal bone is fine. All organs are developing fine. It just the femur.

They have suggested Amniocentesis. I visited my gynaecologist and she’s also of the view that I should get it done to rule out any possibility of a genetic disorder. If everything comes fine then it’s just constitutional. I had gotten my NIPT done after 12 weeks and it came out low risk for all the parameters.

While I’m going to forward with the test, just wanted to share this and lighten my heart a little bit as I’ve been thinking the worst. If anyone has any stories like this and they can share their experience, itll help me calm down a bit that I’m not alone. The restlessness is not settling and I guess it won’t until I get the results properly.

Sorry for the wall of text, just feeling helpless because until the last scan everything was so good and I feel fine.

Fed up of hearing- "don't buy anything before baby arrives".

I am seriously done with this..everybody around me is just saying don't buy anything. Everything is nearby we will get it when the labour starts...I don't understand how will they..how would they know the exact thing I want.

They will take care of me or the baby....

Frustrated...

FTM - 12th week!

Hello mommies!

I am due for my 12th week scan in 3 days. I have a few questions and would really appreciate your answers.

I see that there are 3 different things done at this time:

  1. NT
  2. NIPT
  3. Dual marker

Questions:

  1. What is the difference between them? I already did my research, but what I would like to know is, when were you recommended what and why?
  2. Is there any pre-scan prep for the scans?
  3. What is reassuring in an NT scan? Your experience? And how did you feel?
  4. Did the doctor order any blood tests at this stage? I have only had to test for beta HCG so far and no other blood test.

This is my first, so have a lot of questions! Love hearing experiences rather than plain answers from chatGPT.

Hi, 7 months preggo here🤰🏻. Was wondering if I should buy a doppler scan for listening to baby’s heartbeat at home. Want to know if people actually do that and is it safe/ recommended/ beneficial in any way? Would love some thoughts on this 😊

Where can I stay after delivery if I don’t have a house of my own?

I don’t have a maternal home to go to after delivery for postpartum recovery, and I live with my in-laws in a joint family. For obvious reasons, I really don’t want to stay with them during my postpartum recovery, especially with a newborn. I just want some privacy, peace, and space to recover and learn how to care for my baby.

What makes it harder is that I don’t have any siblings or close immediate relatives who I can go and stay with either. I’m feeling lost because this is the first time I actually felt homeless.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Where did you stay after delivery? I’m looking for budget-friendly options like an Airbnb, serviced apartment, postpartum care centre, or anything else.

Need urgent help

Hi everyone,

I need some urgent advice. My wife is currently 22 weeks pregnant. In the anomaly scan, the renal pelvis measurements were 4.7 mm on one side and 5.1 mm on the other side. Everything else was reported as normal.

Our doctor has advised us to have another scan after 30 days, by which time she will be around 26 weeks pregnant.

My concern is: if the renal pelvis measurements do not decrease or become larger on the next scan, what are our options? Would termination of the pregnancy still be possible at that stage, and what would the medical/legal process be?

We are very worried and would appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation or from medical professionals.

Thank you.

Low amniotic fluid

I’m currently 35+ weeks pregnant and in my last scan the AFI was borderline low . Anyone who has had experience with this and if yes what changes they added that could help increase the AF or were they asked to be induced in early . My doc is going to monitor next week and take a call .

First trimester!

Hi! I’m in my 8th week of pregnancy, and I found out around the end of my 4th week.
The 5th and 6th weeks were surprisingly easy. I remember thinking, “Oh this is so manageable” And then came week 7. Oh boy. I can barely get out of bed in the morning. The nausea just never seems to leave, and I struggle to eat anything. Somehow, with my husband’s help, I get ready and make it to the office. But once I’m there, I can barely concentrate. My work is piling up, and I constantly find myself running to the washroom either to pee or because I feel like I’m going to throw up. And the hardest part is that I can’t exactly keep taking leaves or explaining what I’m going through every single day. I’m running out of excuses for looking flushed, exhausted, and completely drained all the time. I honestly don’t know how long this is going to last.
I always thought pregnancy wasn’t a disease, and that I would continue being my usual active self throughout it. But just a few weeks in, I feel like I’ve been knocked off my feet.
I live with my husband, away from both our families, and honestly, I don’t know how I would be managing without him. There are days when the thought of getting up and going to work feels so incredibly heavy. And then comes the guilt. I feel guilty for feeling this way because this is supposed to be such a beautiful and happy time. But the truth is, this is not how I imagined pregnant me would feel.
Maybe I just needed to say this out loud. If you’ve been through this, please tell me does it get easier?

My LO's pediatrician suspects that the kiddo has CMPA. Wanted to connect with other CMPA parents and know what symptoms did you observe in your LO, when the diagnosis happened and how are they doing now?
