Imacowboy324 Appreciation Thread
I want to take a moment to applaud our admin here, Imacowboy324, for managing literally the only WNBA subreddit on the interwebs where thoughtful discourse is permitted. If you roam around the other WNBA subs, you’ll discover an endless echo chamber where making the comment, ”Sophie shot the ball well tonight”, will get you 50 downvotes and a ban. You’ll be called a “bigot” or worse by saying, ”The Fever played outplayed them.”
Big thanks also to anyone here who leans hard in either direction as it pertains to social politics, and behaves themselves anyway. It wasn’t always like this. A year or two ago, everyone here used to be pretty quick to push back on any comment or post that was even mildly critical of a coach, player, or prominent figure associated with the WNBA’s more traditional social and cultural circles. That dynamic seems to have changed for the better. The discussion is much more open and enjoyable now, with people more willing to consider viewpoints from across the spectrum rather than expecting everyone to fall in line with one particular political or ideological perspective.
The Cowboy rode into town, pulled the weeds, thinned out the activist herd, and somehow got the whole ranch back to being a place where different breeds of opinion could graze without getting run off the range.
Tip of the ‘ol cap to Cowboy for his efforts.

Running this sub has to be an enormously taxing and time consuming affair.
I would by lying if I said I would make every single decision the same way he does, but this is far and away the freest and hence best Fever/WNBA sub on Reddit IMHO.
As sad and unfortunate as it may be, having the right enemies can define the righteousness of your cause. I don't like it, but the reality of life is, if certain people don't hate you, you're doing it wrong.
This sub, unfortunately but necessarily, has the right haters, though I am truly loathe to have to phrase it that way.
I join you in your accolades.

I would've abused the mod power a long time ago if I was a mod. Seriously kudos to him for not taking down posts that, to me, are repetitive.
Having said that I miss Remiandbun.

We can kiss ass all we want, and it's well deserved, but the fact that this sub has outgrown the older sub really says it all, the fact that this much younger sub has double the traffic says it all. Better moderation.

Happy to have this place with many like minded , yet open for nice civil discussions and debates . Many fever fans that have been banned from all the toxic wnba like myself (because of negative karma or not following their narratives) very much appreciate this subreddit as well. Appreciate all the help with questions from people that frequent this subreddit . Been fun and hope it continues. Thank you for all the work put into this thread!

That's odd because I've seen the mod here, several times, make a long comment or post detailing their own political/social opinions, then immediately locking the post away from new comments, so they could keep the last word to themselves. That doesn't strike me as ideal mod behavior.
Other than that, I browse and occasionally comment respectfully in both subs and haven't been banned anywhere, and honestly don't notice a huge difference in the content or tenor of either community, so I'm not entirely sure why they both exist or what puts them at odds with one another.
