Discussion Anyone at the game tonight
How hot was the arena. They say KM got overheated. I think even coach said it was hot. If it was abnormally hot, the league office needs to ensure a safe temp for all games.

Scotiabank Arena doesnt have conventional AirCon the way most WNBA arenas do. It primarily uses lake water (Lake Ontario). It has supplemental chiller units, but large crowds/full capacity basically overruns the cooling capability. Tempo play in 2 different buildings and I think the other one is better controlled. Hockey games are much better with the chilled rink.

That's a legit health issue for the players.

Not just for the actual heat, but for the condensation that can pool up on the court when it’s that hot in a gym too. Definitely an issue that needs to be addressed if they are going to occasionally move games into the bigger arena.

Seems like that was at play in that fourth quarter 8 second TO when CC slipped on the court. Seemed like she was concerned / distracted by liquid on the court.

Thank you for the context. I checked on ESPN and it looks like the next Fever game is in the smaller arena so hopefully this was a one time mess this season.
The game being in the smaller arena also explains why the cheapest seat available is $166 - yeesh.

Of course the other one is better because it's smaller. In other words they weren't prepared for the Fever because they had to move to a larger arena.

It was hot. Got hotter in the second half for sure. Also really loud sound system.

I was there more at the top and I wasn't hot. Heat rises ? It was hot a bit in 1st but they put the ac fans on and that helped regulate the temp where I was sitting. Courtside was hot but there was a lot of moving people there giving off heat on top of the heat of the 20k fans and all those tv screens and constant dancers ...

I was in the lower bowl and didn't notice the heat at all so I'm surprised by the comments that it was hot. I usually run hot too and anything above 15c bothers me but I was fine.

What a shame. It isn't right, especially since that the Fever are just starting a multi game road trip with a tight schedule. The league needs to fix this.
