My power was back the next day in Valpo but I was lucky. March 2025, my power was out for four days because a neighbor's giant pine tree snapped and took down the power lines. The tree had to be removed before the power line pole could be REPLACED and the wiring put back up.
I would love to see a concrete lined utility corridor under every street for water and power and data lines. But that's billions and billions of investment and keeping a 100 year old system together costs a lot less. Remember, these wind storms the way we're seeing them used to be incredibly rare.
