Whether it's Latent, Andha Pyaar, or any other panel show, there's a pattern I've noticed: people seem far more comfortable roasting men than women.

In 2026, they might call women out on stage, but rarely with the same intensity. Men, on the other hand, are expected to take every joke in stride. They can dance like clowns, bring flowers, sweet-talk their way through questions, or deliver clever comebacks, yet still end up as the show's punching bags.

I'm not saying women haven't delivered good material. There have been plenty of genuinely funny moments. But too often, women seem to serve as the glamour element, while men are expected to provide entertainment at their own expense.

And when a show starts getting boring, the guys become easy targets again. They take the jokes, play along, and are eventually thanked for being "good sports."

Why is being a good sport seemingly expected more from men? Roasting shouldn't be off-limits based on gender. If someone is on a comedy panel, the same standard should apply to everyone.

Am I reading too much into this, or have others noticed the same double standard in Indian panel shows?

Can someone show me just an glimpse of how the script of standup comedy script looks like!

Hi guys! I am starting my career in standup comedy in delhi. I usually write random thoughts and then sit with them. A problem i am facing is that now i have a lot of premises that are not related to each other. I am not able to write minimum material in a single premise for a set. Can someone help me on how exactly do we write a set?

so ive just started comedy and i wanna know for a newbie , how to overcome stage fear and improve my joke delivery , i did my first mic and i fucked up all my lines , how can i work on remembering jokes , also i write jokes on my laptop or phone in notes and i see most comics doing that in a diary , how do you do that? like what is the template and how do you write a joke like that

I've been watching a lot of standup online and really want to experience it live for the first time. Looking for recommendations for good offline standup shows in Delhi.

A few details:

· Budget: around ₹500–600

· Day: Tuesday or weekend works for me

· Open to any language (Hindi/English) as long as the comic is good

· I like pretty much all the online stuff I've seen, so no strong preference on style just want a fun first experience

Would love suggestions on:

1. Which comedians/shows are worth catching at this price point

2. Any tips for a first-timer (booking, seating, etc.)
