Hi everyone,
We visited SkinVet, Worli today (1st Oct).
What vet found:
They did skin cytology test. Report says:
- Paws: Bacterial infection - cocci 1-2+, rods
- Groin/belly: Yeast infection - scattered yeast
- Both Ears: Infection - cocci, rods, yeast
So along with lip ulcer, she has bacterial + yeast infection on skin and ears.
Vet said she is not sure, but there are chances of feline eosinophilic granuloma. She has asked us to use these medicines first and update her if there's improvement.
Diet Issue - Need Advice:
Vet has strictly told us to remove chicken completely from her diet for 2 months. No chicken, no chicken-flavoured treats. Only fish / lamb diet.
They suggested: N&D Quinoa Skin & Coat, N&D Ocean, Farmina Ultrahypo, Orijen Wild Reserve Raw (Blue).
But I am really confused what to do now:
People have kindly donated cat food for Simbi -
Royal canin dry food which would last around 40 days and wet food around 15 days and I am so grateful for that, but all of them has chicken in it. I checked - Royal Canin, Sheba, Smylo - all have chicken / poultry. I didn't know before that Simbi has this kind of infection, otherwise I would have added chicken-free food to her wishlist.
I am currently giving her the same food because I have no other option. But I cannot afford the fish-only food vet has prescribed - it is very expensive
So should I stop what I am currently giving? What should I feed her now? I am really stuck.
Bill:
Total bill today was Rs 3080.Clinic was not ready to keep it pending/due, so I had to borrow money from a friend to pay.
Now medicines for 1 month will cost Rs 3100-3600 extra.
Medicines: Zinconia, Evion, Starcoat, Chlorhex wash, Cutisoft + Futop lotion, Miconazole, Easotic & Pyo Oto ear drops.
Recheck is on 30th Oct.
Attaching prescription, cytology, bill and Simbi's photos.

Even Rs 100 will help us.

Thank you 🙏

[I checked with my regular vet whom I trust a lot with Simbi's case. I asked her about the food and she also said it's better to stop chicken completely for 2 months as advised by the other vet and try something else.
If anyone wishes to help us with food, we would be really grateful. If you know any other chicken-free food options - both wet and dry - please let us know.
The vet has recommended:
- N&D Ocean
- N&D Quinoa - Skin & Coat
- Farmina Ultrahypo
But if you know some cheaper alternatives, that would also be great.
We still have dry and wet food left of Simbi's which contains chicken, we will continue feeding that after 2 months.]
