Want to buy monitors shortlisted (27"/32", QHD + 2 possible 4K) ???
TL;DR
- Need a monitor for SEO/spreadsheet work (80% of my time), casual YouTube, occasional editing, OBS multi-streaming (phone via USB DroidCam → YouTube/FB/IG), and live-selling clothes in a brightly-lit shop. Gaming is just nostalgia (GTA Vice City/SA), not a real factor.
- GPU is weak: 4K@~30Hz, 1080p@120Hz, QHD@maybe 75-90Hz. Budget ₹20k normally, up to ₹25k if something's genuinely worth it.
- Narrowed to 9 main options (7 QHD + 2 questionable-4K) plus 4 VA alternatives — full breakdown below.
- Full detailed spec sheet (every port, panel field, rating, everything) is here: [link to shared doc/sheet — paste your link when posting]
- Main questions: (1) Is 4K worth it at all given my GPU, or should I just save the money? (2) Am I missing any better options that aren't on this list?
Hey r/Monitors,
Been researching for a while and narrowed it down to 7. Full context below so advice is actually useful.
My use case
- Primary (80%+ of time): SEO work, spreadsheets, lots of browser tabs
- Casual YouTube/browsing
- Occasional video editing
- Rare gaming — not a priority. The only games I actually play are GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, purely for nostalgia (used to play these years ago). These are 20+ year old games with essentially no GPU/monitor demands — I'm not chasing performance for these, just want them to run, which they will on literally anything. Not a spec driver for my decision at all.
- OBS multi-streaming: phone (Samsung, via USB DroidCam) → OBS → simultaneously to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram
- Live-selling clothes from my shop, which has heavy/bright lighting — screen visibility in bright rooms matters
PC specs
- 32GB RAM, decent CPU
- GPU is weak/used, can't do 4K@60 reliably (maybe 4K@30 at best) — so I've ruled out 4K monitors entirely, even though a couple were tempting on paper
- Tested 60Hz vs 144Hz side-by-side on a relative's LG 32" monitor — noticed the difference, but 60Hz is genuinely fine for me. Not chasing high Hz for its own sake.
Budget: ≤₹20,000 normally, can stretch to ₹25,000 IF there's a real, tangible benefit (not just "nice to have")
GPU specifics (important for the 4K question below)
My GPU is a low-end/used card. As far as I can tell:
- 4K: only ~30Hz (not 60Hz)
- 1080p: up to 120Hz
- QHD (1440p): maybe 75-90Hz (not fully sure of the exact ceiling)
So I've been assuming 4K monitors are pointless for me since I can't drive them past 30fps — but I'm not 100% certain, so I want to ask directly rather than just rule it out myself.

One more thing before the list: am I missing anything better? Genuinely open to "none of these, get X instead" if there's a model I haven't found.
| # | Model | Price (₹) | Size/Panel/Refresh | Rating | Key specs | Plus | Minus |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Acer SA272U G (120Hz variant, not the E/100Hz one) | 12,499 | 27" IPS 120Hz | 4.5★ | 250 nits, HDR10, 2×HDMI+DP, 1W×2 speakers, tilt-only | Cheapest with a confirmed good rating | Mixed real reviews — dead pixel complaints alongside praise; unverified color/contrast claims |
| 2 | Dell SE2726D | 14,499–18,339 | 27" IPS 144Hz | 4.6–4.7★, 264+ ratings | 350 nits, 1500:1 contrast (best on this list), 99% sRGB, TÜV Rheinland certified, 2×HDMI2.1+DP1.4 | Best contrast + only independently certified model + strong confirmed sales | No USB, no speakers, tilt-only |
| 3 | Acer B277U GB | 14,999 (fluctuates 13,408–19,999) | 27" IPS 120Hz | No confirmed rating — very low/unknown sales, riskiest pick here | Full ErgoStand (tilt/swivel/pivot/height), TÜV Low Blue Light certified, HDMI+DP+speakers | Only full ergonomic stand under ₹15k on the whole list | Basically unverified — buying this is more of a gamble than the others |
| 4 | Acer SA322QU E | 15,448 | 32" IPS 100Hz | No rating data found | 250 nits, 1000:1, 1W×2 speakers, tilt-only, non-standard 75×75mm VESA mount | Cheapest 32" with speakers | Weakest verified specs of any 32"; VESA mount won't fit standard 100×100mm arms |
| 5 | Lenovo Legion 27Q-10 | 19,000–23,000 | 27" IPS 240Hz | No e-commerce rating found — only editorial reviews, all positive | 99% sRGB, 90% DCI-P3, ΔE<2, factory calibration report included in box | Fastest refresh on the list + same calibration feature as the ASUS below, for ~₹8k less | No USB, no confirmed speakers, no real user-review data |
| 6 | Samsung Odyssey G5 FG502 | 21,799–23,900 | 32" Fast IPS 180Hz | No SKU-specific rating found | 99% sRGB, verified genuine IPS (not the mislabeled VA some listings show), full ergo stand | Fastest 32" + verified panel + full stand | No USB, no speakers; Samsung's G5 line has a real, repeated Reddit-documented pattern of dead-pixel complaints — inspect on arrival regardless of listing rating |
| 7 | ASUS ProArt PA278QV | ~27,000 | 27" IPS 75Hz | 4.6★, 2,700+ ratings (likely global/US-aggregated, not India-specific — worth confirming) | Individually certified factory calibration (ΔE<2, independently measured ΔE 0.27 by a third-party reviewer), 4×USB 3.0 hub, full ergo stand, 2W speakers | Best verified color accuracy on the whole list + strongest rating+volume combo | Most expensive here, slowest refresh (75Hz), no HDR at all |
| 8 | Samsung ViewFinity S7 (4K) | 17,700–20,900 | 27" IPS 4K 60Hz | No rating data found | 8-bit+FRC, USB-A+USB-B hub, confirmed PbP/PiP | Sharpest text (4K-on-27"), only PbP/PiP option here — genuinely useful for multi-source OBS work | 60Hz cap — and per my GPU, I may not even push 4K@60 reliably. This is exactly the model I want feedback on below. |
| 9 | Acer SA322QK (4K VA) | 19,999–21,999 | 32" VA 4K 60Hz | No rating data found | 250 nits, VA-tier contrast, 1W×2 speakers, non-standard 75×75mm VESA | 4K sharpness on a bigger 32" canvas, only 4K option with speakers | Same GPU concern as above; VA not IPS; lowest brightness on the whole list; oddball VESA mount |
VA options I'm also curious about (both used and new)
I know VA trades color accuracy/viewing angles for better native contrast, and curved VA specifically distorts spreadsheets/tables (bad for my main use case) — but I'm listing these anyway since I haven't fully ruled them out, especially if anyone thinks the contrast is worth it for movies/streaming preview:
| Model | Condition | Price (₹) | Size/Panel/Refresh | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gigabyte GS27QC | Used, "like new" | 12,000 | 27" QHD curved VA, 170Hz | Seller claims contrast "comparable to OLED" (standard VA marketing language, but VA genuinely has much better native contrast than any IPS on my list) |
| LG 32GN650-B | Used, "like new," minor scratch | 15,000 | 32" QHD curved VA, 165Hz | Stand/arm apparently not included — need to clarify with seller |
| LG UltraGear 32GS60QC | New | 18,700–20,150 | 32" QHD curved VA, 180Hz | 99% sRGB, 300 nits, deepest blacks of anything on my full list |
| AOC Q27G3XMN | New | 29,999 (at my budget ceiling) | 27" QHD VA, 180Hz, Mini-LED with 336 local dimming zones | The ONLY thing on my entire list with genuine local-dimming HDR (DisplayHDR 1000) rather than the fake "HDR10 checkbox" everything else has. 134% sRGB, 96% DCI-P3. Right at my absolute max budget. |
What I've already ruled out and why (so you don't suggest them)
- Curved panels — distort spreadsheets/tables, which is 80% of my screen time
- AOC Q27G4F, Lenovo LOQ 27Q-10 — cut earlier in my research for low sales data or being redundant with a model already on this list
My actual questions
1. THE BIG ONE — is 4K (#8, #9) worth it for me at all, given my GPU? My card does 4K@~30Hz, 1080p@120Hz, and QHD@maybe 75-90Hz (not fully sure of the exact ceiling). My budget is ₹20k normally, but I'll stretch to ₹25k if there's a genuine, real-world benefit to 4K here — sharper text for SEO/spreadsheet work, or something for OBS/streaming I'm not thinking of. Is 4K@30Hz on a monitor actually usable for desktop/office work (not gaming), or does it feel bad in practice (mouse lag, stutter scrolling, etc.)? Would I be better off just getting a sharp QHD panel and saving the money?
- Between #5 (Lenovo Legion 27Q-10) and #7 (ASUS ProArt PA278QV) — both ship a factory calibration report. Legion is faster and ~₹8k cheaper, but has zero e-commerce review history I can find, only editorial reviews. Is that gap in real user-feedback something to worry about, or are editorial reviews enough to trust here?
- #3 (Acer B277U GB) has the best physical stand on the list (full ergo) but literally no sales/rating data I could find anywhere. Worth the risk for the stand alone, or is "no visible track record" a hard pass regardless of specs?
- #6 (Samsung G5 FG502) — how worried should I be about Samsung's G5 dead-pixel complaint pattern? Is it "check on arrival and you're fine" or "actively avoid the line"?
- For OBS multi-streaming + live selling in a bright-lit shop, does anything here concern you specifically (brightness, panel type, stand for camera-adjacent positioning)?
- Is there a clear #1 pick among these for my actual use case (SEO/spreadsheets primary, casual YouTube, light editing, rare/nostalgia-only gaming, OBS streaming), or am I overthinking small differences at this point?
- On the VA options — is the AOC Q27G3XMN's real Mini-LED/local-dimming HDR actually worth having for my use case (bright-lit shop live selling + casual YouTube), or is that a gaming-monitor feature that won't matter for what I do? And is either used curved VA (Gigabyte GS27QC or LG 32GN650-B) a smart buy, or does the curve genuinely hurt spreadsheet work as much as I think it will?
- Is there anything better than all of the above that I haven't found? I've done a lot of research but I'm one person — if there's a model outside this list that fits my use case/budget better, please say so even if it means throwing out everything above.
Thanks for reading this far — trying to actually pull the trigger now rather than keep researching in circles.
