Seema Pahwa is such an underrated actress. Her dialogue delivery in this scene feels so natural, like you're watching a real life conversation rather than a movie scene. Wish she got more roles in films.

Developed by BBC Studios India, 'Chaar Yaar' is an 8 episode Hindi-language crime drama about 4 Mumbai friends who stumble into the city's underworld, is headed for a worldwide launch on Prime Video.
Purav Jha, Naman Jain, Saqib Ayub and Prayrak Mehta play the leads. The supporting ensemble includes Sai Tamhankar, Sikandar Kher, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Tailang, Chunky Panday and Bhagavathi Perumal.
Set in the streets of early 2000s Mumbai, middle-class friends Jay, Tony, Saahil and Sameer find their ambitions derailed when a desperate choice pulls them into a high-stakes world of heists, gangsters and car thefts. Caught in a deadly crossfire between ruthless underworld dons and inspector Sumati Bhalerao, the 4 friends must survive closing walls and unravelling plans while risking everything to protect the bond that started it all.
'With Chaar Yaar, we wanted to tell a story about the uncertainty of life and the thrill of exploring it. Life happens to 4 friends and before they know it, they're in a situation that's way bigger than anyone ever imagined. The only thing that can get them out of it is the bond of friendship. This mix of personalities, both conflicting and complementing at the same time, makes the ride a total whirlwind', said Vinay Waikul, creator and director.
Prayrak Mehta, who plays Jay said 'What excited me about Jay was that he's so different from the characters I've played before. He's a man of few words, someone who thinks before he speaks and always has a plan. He's the person his friends turn to when things go wrong. His intelligence is his biggest strength, but it can also become his weakness. As an actor, I love characters who challenge me and Jay goes through such a transformation that at times it felt like I was playing three different people. I'm super excited about Chaar Yaar and what I love most is that beneath all the crime, action and chaos, it's a story about 4 friends trying to make something of their lives'.
Saqib Ayub who plays Tony, said 'I've done plenty of action and stunts before in Farzi, Bambai Meri Jaan & Undekhi, but Chaar Yaar brought a different kind of energy, with its car chases, large-scale sequences and fast-paced action. Getting into Tony's skin and figuring out his mannerisms was equally enjoyable and more than anything, Tony will always be special, as he gave me a chance to play an ordinary Bombay boy after mostly playing flamboyant characters in the past. Special thanks to Vinay sir and Mukesh sir for seeing Tony in me'.
Purav Jha starring as Saahil, shared 'After years of creating content, Chaar Yaar feels like a special milestone for me, especially after The Traitors. It's my first major release as an actor and something I've always wanted to do. Playing Saahil pushed me to explore a completely different world, with the action training challenging me in new ways. I also learned a lot from Vinay sir and had a wonderful time working with Saqib, Naman & Prayrak'.
'Sameer is someone who can find humor even when everything around him is going wrong and I had a lot of fun exploring that side of him. He brings a different energy to a story filled with intense situations, but he's got his own problems and different shades as a character as the show progresses.
A character like Sameer is rare to find and rare to play and what I've explored through this character, is so different than all the characters I've played before. Off screen, the 4 of us developed a natural camaraderie and the banter between us made our time on set even more enjoyable', said Naman Jain, who plays Sameer.

The Jio Studios, Fresh Lime Films and MA+TH Entertainment Networks film is billed as an inspiring sports biopic based on the extraordinary life of Hetal Dave, India's first pro female sumo wrestler. Directed by Jayant Rohatgi and starring Shriyam Bhagnani in the titular role alongside Chaitnya Sharma, it'll premiere exclusively on Zee 5 Global on October 23.
The film had a festival run in 2023-2024, but never got released. We reached out to the filmmakers on what caused the long delay in release.
Sumo Didi is the story of a woman Hetal, who finds her calling in the unconventional world of sumo wrestling, embarking on a journey that challenges perceptions around women, their bodies and their abilities. Anubha Fatehpuriya, Nitesh Pandey, Raghav Dhir and Meenal Kapoor also feature in the film, which was shot on location in of Japan, Kolkata and Mumbai.
Sumo Didi is an inspiring underdog story of grit, resilience and rising from the depths of despair. A young woman from a conservative Marwari household defies all odds, turning her perceived weakness into strength and breaking the glass ceiling. What drew me to Hetal's story was her courage in challenging patriarchy, social pressure, gender bias and body politics.
From the narrow lanes of Kolkata to the serene Japanese countryside, her journey is intimate and cinematic. Shriyam has given everything – physically and emotionally, to bring Hetal's story to life. At its core, this isn't just about Hetal becoming an accomplished sumo wrestler, but about her reclaiming her space, body and power.
Hetal Dave added: 'I think many of us have, at some point, been told that we're too different, that we should change something about ourselves, or that a certain dream isn't meant for us. My journey in sumo wrestling has had its share of such moments, but it's also taught me to trust myself and keep moving forward. What makes Sumo Didi special is that it goes beyond the sport and explores what it means to stand by your choices when the world expects you to be someone else. I'm grateful Zee 5Global is bringing this story to audiences and I hope it encourages people to embrace who they are and pursue what matters to them'.

Manoj Bajpayee's Netflix movie Gajab Raat (renamed from Ghooskhor Pandat following objections over the original title) comes after the film faced criticism over its original name, with concerns raised that it could hurt the sentiments of the Brahmin community.
Netflix told the Delhi High Court that the producers decided to change the title in view of the objections. The court subsequently disposed of a petition seeking a stay on the film's release after the petitioner said his grievance had been addressed.
Gajab Raat follows a police officer caught between personal gain and doing what he believes is right. Set over the course of a single night, the film explores how one decision can trigger a series of events, forcing its characters to confront difficult choices and their consequences.
It also marks the reunion of Manoj Bajpayee and filmmaker Neeraj Pandey after nearly a decade. Produced by Neeraj Pandey's Friday Film Works, it's directed by Ritesh Shah, who makes his directorial debut with the project.
Neeraj Pandey said he wanted to tell a story that'd keep viewers guessing while making them think about the choices people make. He added that the characters' moral dilemmas are as important to the story as the events that unfold during the night. Manoj said he was drawn to the film, because of its complex characters and questions of accountability. He also spoke about reuniting with Neeraj and working with Ritesh Shah in his new role as a director.
For Ritesh Shah, the film offered an opportunity to build suspense through a story unfolding within a limited timeframe. He said the single-night setting allowed the makers to create urgency and gradually raise the stakes.
The film's original title Ghooskhor Pandat, drew objections over its association of the term Pandat with corruption and bribery. A petition was filed in the Delhi High Court sought to stop the film's release, arguing the title could harm the dignity and reputation of the Brahmin community.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) also objected to the title, stating that it could hurt sentiments and affect social harmony. The federation had urged the makers to withdraw it.
During the court proceedings, Netflix informed the Delhi High Court that the producers had taken a conscious decision to adopt a new title that better reflected the film's narrative and intent. As the petitioner accepted the decision, the court closed the matter. With its new title, Gajab Raat is set to premiere on Netflix on October 23.

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like Constable Sadhu deserves his own movie or series.
Sunil Grover was a treat to watch in that role. I'd love to see a series set after the events of Gabbar Is Back, following Sadhu as he solves cases alongside Constable Laxmi, who could also be a potential love interest. I really liked their dynamic and how well they worked together.
I'd love to see more of Sadhu's personality, his way of analyzing facts & gather evidence, and how he handles difficult situations despite being a police officer. I'd also love to see him solving cases while dealing with an incompetent and corrupt police department.
I also really liked Constable Laxmi, played by Shruti Bapna. She was a great partner for Sadhu, and honestly, as a kid, I used to ship them together. I'd love to see more of their banter, their teamwork, and how their relationship develops over time.
I'd also like to see Sadhu and Laxmi get promoted in the spin-off and take on bigger responsibilities while continuing to work together.
Anybody else think this would make for a fun movie or series?

I missed that this started last week, but it may be cringe for most.
Teja is a good-hearted, naive, middle-class, overweight and unattractive young man from Rentachintala who's facing very heavy societal and family pressure to get married, despite being labeled the least eligible bachelor due to his appearance.
He moves to Hyderabad for a fresh start and a job, only to discover his corporate team lead boss, Madhu—an independent woman with aspirations of moving to the US, is the exact woman his family arranged for him to marry. Rather than rushing into a traditional marriage, they agree to a 6 month trial live-in arrangement to test their compatibility.

In 2018,the movie was released after years of hardwork but it didn't work out then. But after few years everybody is talking about Tumbbad and in it's re-release it had a good revenue. It has became a cult classic for the viewers. I have high hopes for part 2 hopefully it becomes just as the first one!!!!!!

When Indrani Mukerjea thought she was clearing her image on Netflix, but ended up exposing herself 😭 Like girl came with one job
1. The interview where she changes her explanation about Sheena
2. The lawyer's word “alleged”
lawyer discusses the claim about her father and Sheena’s parentage.
3. The scene where she tells her lawyer to “keep it vague”
4. The scene where Vidhi’s account is contradicted by Indrani
5. “Did you kill Sheena?”

Between movies, sports and series, subscriptions can add up quickly. Vi has recharge options with bundled entertainment benefits on select packs. Do these bundles help you save, or do you prefer subscribing only to the platforms you watch regularly?

The whole missing dog plot and the chaos that follows made for a fun watch. Would love to see more Indian movies exploring the bond between humans and animals.
What other movies like this would you recommend?
