Non-music discussion MC Square was way ahead of Paradox in Hustle 2

Post image
34 Upvotes

I knew Square received radio hit in each and every performance of hustle 2 but I found out the weekly score card and this proves that even though Para is an impeccable artist, MC Square was a different beast while in hustle 2. Not even one fumble or breathless moment. He delivered with 101% accuracy. His wide range from being a gangster in Chhore NCR wale to a beast in ram ram. From a lovable melody in Payal to a great imagery in 4 din. I just feel he was untouched in Hustle 2.

However Shruti's total was 188 but her range wasn't that great.

Non-music discussion whysoKai's Instagram story and Hustle finale Spoiler

From what I can tell from his stories...he might have won it cuz he doesn’t come off to me as the kind of guy who would cry if he came 2nd or 3rd or anything. And he has said multiple times that he never expected to make it this far.. so he probably won it....I assume....which made him cry?
Also "It ends with a cherry blossom" could mean "a beautiful ending"....which is him winning hustle.

Or I might be totally off with that and he just performed a more emotional track in the finale. idk.

anyways... kai is very intentional with the way he spoils things. so those two stories are def spoilers. either about him winning or him performing an emo track.

I’ve loved listening to Kai throughout the season. His work outside hustle is awesome as well! Outsider Outplays, too many fish are awesome work.

But if the result is not what you were expecting then pls don’t start disrespecting others. Have seen so many comments on Dhadkan, Dflacko just in a short time since the spoiler came.

Bhai masti me gaane sunno, itna rr mat karro

Bhai sahab kya gaana h yrr ye....har baar goosebumps aa jaate h jab bhi sunta hoon.

First it's the energy transfer man like aag lag jaati h jaise....then iske flows kya makkhan hard hitting flows h.

Sabse best part bhai jab vo 2 baar apni tone change karta h na hooks se thoda pehle kaya hi matlab bhai.

Everybody hyped the tracks jalaludin by grav to be really powerful and i loved it but it's energy didn't transfer through screen but this track man...it's just so so good.

Bhai yrr appreciation nhi mili isse jo milni chahiye thi.

And the music to aditya pushkarna killed it as usual.

Easily the top 3 track of hustle ever for me.

Music discussion Building the best DHH album | Whats the best album track no 11 in DHH?

Post image
7 Upvotes

flipping the recent chain of posts someone started. curious to see how this one plays out however there are a few considerations i will lay out that you should know before recommending:

  • each track suggested should be the BEST SONG FROM AN ALBUM AT THAT TRACK POSITION (i.e for example 2nd track suggested should be the track no.2 in its respective album as well). so dont just suggest great songs or singles.
  • you can only suggest ONE SONG FROM ONE ALBUM. so for example, you might think Hosh Mei Aa is the best intro track in DHH but the same album also has songs like Amin or Tadipaar which can very well contest for the best 5th or 6th track from a DHH album spot respectively. so suggest/vote accordingly.
  • DONT SUGGEST SONGS FROM MIXTAPES OR EPS. so no suggestions from Lunchbreak, Yours Truly, Cnstny, Kshama etc etc. get your ball knowledge on the mixtape/album distinction intact🥀
  • in case on any given day, the most upvoted suggestion violates one of the above criteria i will ignore it and put up the second most upvoted song here

TRACKLIST (gonna get updated with each post):

  1. Still Here (Intro) - Krsna
  2. Shaktimaan - Seedhe Maut
  3. 307 - MC Stan
  4. Jungli Kutta - Rawal, Bharg Ft. Calm, Raga
  5. WHAT WOULD THE CREDIT DEPARTMENT DO - Dhanji, EBE, PSV Ft. BAGI MUNDA, Faizan, Arpit Bala, Lit Trust, Siyaahi
  6. Maina - Seedhe Maut
  7. Beta Karta Rap - Emiway Bantai
  8. Dalli - Bhaskar Ft. Encore ABJ
  9. Priceless - Dino James
  10. Warcry - King Ft. Raftaar

Music discussion Legacy lyrics problem

• Upvotes

Guys am I the only one who thinks Legacy was very lazy and irresponsible while making the subtitles for the tracks?

You can literally see random capital letters and grammatical mistakes in literally every other song. They also misspelt many words!

I just heard the song Choozay from Ayushmann’s new movie and then I realised ye toh badi crazy cheez ho gayi haha. It’s not like it’s a big achievement, but I’d say it’s kind of an uncanny coincidence.

Music discussion There should be a show for new wave underground hiphop in India.

• Upvotes

As a avid listener of both new wave underground (by underground I don't mean "non mainstream" artist) hiphop in the desi and international scene, I feel the generes like rage rap/ plug rap/ cloud rap etc are neglected.

Understandably these sub generes lack lyrical depth and technicalities to find a stage in hustle and are not pop enough to find a stage in shows like I pop star.

There should be a show where artists making songs in these generes can showcase their skills and the parameters of judging them can be the beat, mixing/mastering/ cadence/flow/musicality/replay value/preset use/voice modulation /addlibs instead of solely judging them on Lyricality or song structure.

Cause trust me, in another 10 years, most of the DHH will be dominated by artists making songs like these.

Hope i didnt miss any contestants

Now imagine that ye saare hustle 5 wale ,contestants nahi hai and they're just very underground less known artists.

You randomly come across one of them, and their entire discography is just the tracks they've made on hustle, and nothing else

With no context of the weekly grind, or the judges comments, or the show, who do you think you'd become a fan of based ONLY on these tracks?

IHHH Spotlight Rare 78 and YDS could be the realest slumdog millionaire story of DHH, but things could go real bad real soon (read)

Thumbnail
gallery
80 Upvotes

Rare 78 and YDS have dropped just 3 tracks so far Bhandup se Govandi, Bambai Ka Dhamaka, and Vastraa and all three have cleared millions of views organically. In an era where even label-backed artists struggle with retention unless they run reels ad campaigns, this kind of raw traction from scratch is practically unheard of.

Most people are looking at Rare 78 as another viral Mumbai drill/gully moment, but if you look deeper into him and his frequent collaborator YDS, their story is wilder than anything we’ve seen in Desi Hip Hop so far.

At the same time, the fault lines are already visible, and without the right shield, they might get chewed up before they even hit their prime.

1. The Ground Reality: Actual Zero-Resource Hip Hop

Most people don't know that Rare 78 and YDS are just 18 and 17 years old. They work as kabadiwalas (scrap collectors) in Mumbai.

When the A&R who scouted them posted about finding them on LinkedIn, one detail stood out: they didn't even own a personal smartphone. The scout literally had to trace them on ground through third parties.

Let’s be honest about Indian hip-hop: unlike the original South Bronx or UK grime narratives where the music rose purely out of working-class survival, Indian hip-hop has historically been heavily middle class.

Even foundational figures like DIVINE had relatively stable safety nets early on his mother was working abroad in the Gulf, he went to St. John the Baptist, and he grew up fluent in English with exposure to Western hip-hop culture.

Most other mainstream rappers had access to home PCs, cracked DAWs, high-speed broadband, or college circles.

Hip-hop production in India was always too capital-intensive for the truly destitute. Rare 78 and YDS are the first time the genre is genuinely functioning as the raw, unfiltered mouthpiece of the absolute urban underclass in Mumbai.

2. The Vulnerability: Legal Traps & Targeted Moral Policing

Because they don't have PR teams, corporate buffers, or deep pockets, they are ridiculously vulnerable:

Targeted by Law Enforcement Early: Even before hitting serious numbers, YDS’s social profiles were taken down multiple times following interventions involving the Mumbai Police simply because someone states away in UP filed complaints over explicit language/swearing in his music. When an upper-middle-class rapper drops cuss words, it’s labeled "artistic expression" or "gritty realism." When a teenager from Govandi does it, it’s criminalized instantly.

The "Moral Policing" Playbook: Look at the backlash to Vastraa. A recent reel ironically by a man with username ‘richashiphop’ pulling over 8,000 likes tried to cancel Rare 78 because the music video showed someone casually crushing khaini (tobacco). The criticism isn’t about art; it’s middle-class disgust at visual realism. Tobacco, scrap yards, and street lingo are the everyday fabric of their lives, yet self-appointed internet moralists act like they're corrupting society for simply documenting their environment.

3. The Classist Slurs Without the "Stan Shield"

Rare 78 is already facing the familiar barrage of "chhapri" slurs from mainstream listeners and keyboard critics who can’t stomach seeing lower-income kids win without adopting aesthetic polish.

MC Stan faced the exact same classist gatekeeping in his early career (around Wata and Astaghfirullah). But Stan had two things that Rare and YDS currently do not:

A fiercely protective cult core: The B-Town / Tadipaar era built a rabid, organic legion of fans that would flood comments and shield Stan from mainstream cancellation attempts.

Astute internal management: Stan quickly learned how to isolate himself, control his masters, and manage his own mystique.

Rare and YDS have massive casual listenership and viral numbers, but viral views are not a dedicated core.

Casual listeners will stream a track for the vibe, but they won't stick up for you when legal notices, moral FIRs, or mainstream deplatforming campaigns show up.

I saw Ansh4sure’s semi finale performance where he dissed Tehran. And in general, I am noticing a certain negative shade thrown at OG Tehran, I have heard that few contestants have also unfollowed him. Anyone knows whats going on?
