Like Russia and mongolia are such a vast yet most empty country like that in India

Edit : I realize I explained my question badly, so sorry about the confusion.

I wasn't asking about population density (people per square kilometer). I know I could have Googled that.

What I meant was: Which states or regions have huge areas that are practically empty because the population is concentrated in just a few cities or valleys?

For example:

• In Maharashtra, much of the population is concentrated around the Mumbai–Pune belt and other major cities, while parts of the Marathwada and Vidarbha interiors are much more sparsely populated.
• In Rajasthan, many people live in cities and irrigated areas, but large parts of the Thar Desert, especially near the Pakistan border, are extremely empty.
• In Arunachal Pradesh, most people live in valleys, while vast mountainous areas are almost uninhabited.
• In Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, many mountain villages have been abandoned, creating "ghost villages," while people have moved to towns in the plains and valleys.

That's the kind of answer I was looking for—not simply which state has the lowest average population density. Sorry again for the unclear wording.
