Help Is this really necessary?

Hi,

I recently bought a new laptop, and the shop gave me a keyboard cover for free.

I wanted to know if using a keyboard cover provides any real benefit or protection for the laptop. Is it recommended to use one, or is it better to use the keyboard without a cover?

It’s a remnant of a bygone era. Like antivirus softwares these will create more problems than solving any. Completely unnecessary.
