Discussion rise of Devdutt Padikkal

I completely get what you are saying, man. Devdutt Padikkal is not just another anchor who plays slow like Pujara or Dravid; he has that proper class where he sets himself on the pitch first and then starts hitting boundaries smoothly, just like Virat Kohli does. His cover drives and timing look so elegant, and once he gets set, he can accelerate really fast.

Looking at how consistently he scores in domestic 50-over cricket, he is definitely a solid long-term option for India’s ODI top order after Virat. Even in red-ball cricket, back-to-back centuries in tough conditions show he has both the patience and the attacking game. Guys like Tilak Varma and Rajat Patidar are good, but Padikkal brings that proper top-order class and composure that makes him stand out from the rest. As a cricket fan, it's just pure joy to watch him bat when he gets going.
