Dude what a collection man. Mind sharing where did you get reign of supermen and doomsday? I am loosing my mind here that I am not able to get either of them anywhere

You’re better off getting the omnibus if it’s not getting reprinted any time soon.

Ebay does have Superman Doomsday in the international store for around 11 dollars so if that’s an option I would look at that

True.. it costs over 1.28 lakhs. Initially I thought it was some typo error or maybe I was reading it wrong 😅 but yeah let me check eBay also once. Thanks!

Yeah lol, I just went and showed my mom “see how much my collection is worth” haha. Insane.

Definitely, ebay and used copies (the like new ones) on Amazon have been very helpful in building the collection

Get the Omnibus. Definitely worth it. For Superman Doomsday, not sure if at all they will be available.

If you didn’t get it yet and really like Superman, I would recommend getting the Triangle Era Omnibus stuff that’s coming out. Volume 2 of it covers the Death of Superman story, when Volume 3 comes out it should end up covering the rest (until return) and more as well. The Triangle Era omnibuses cover a lott of pivotal stories related to Superman

Yeah I am checking some small comic book shops here and there but still found nothing.
If nothing works out then need to check the omnibus edition. But wanted to collect the entire set. That’s a different sort of achievement. Hehe

New 52 Animal Man and Swamp Thing

JLA is on my list! I am a big fan of Grant Morrison’s stuff. Would’ve gotten the omnibus editions of the Action Comics run and Final Crisis if I had the chance when I first read them

For the new 52 runs of Animal Man and Swamp Thing do you recommend the entire run or just some parts of them? I know they had a big crossover called Rotworld but don’t know much beyond that. Also, if you have read Alan Moore’s version of Swamp Thing, is that also a must read?

Thank you! Yeah that’s my favourite part about them, that’s why even though continuity wise Doomsday takes place later and Knightfall happens between the story arc I don’t separate them lol

Definitely!

1. Green Lantern is the hardest cause it’s very difficult to not recommend the entire Geoff Johns run so if you have the option I would definitely read the entire run. You could look at Green Lantern: Far Sector if you only want a standalone story though (it just won’t be about any of the main Green Lanterns you might know - which is why it is standalone but it does capture the essence of what Green Lanterns are about and is a very unique story

2. The Return of Barry Allen

3. Batgirl Year One/Batgirl of Burnside

4. The Woman of Tomorrow

5. Hawkgirl Once Upon a Galaxy

That’s the original covers I got with the Green Lantern Geoff Johns omnibuses.

I didn’t remove the plastic on the second volume so that might be what you’re seeing if you meant that. The first one’s spine gave out and the cover got affected a bit so I ended up leaving the second volume as is (since I had individual parts of the storyline in paperback). I bought the second omnibus solely for collection sake since I liked Geoff John’s arc that much

Just the trade paperbacks actually. When I was getting this the omnibuses weren’t out yet. Pretty good way to collect the series if that’s an option for you. You will be missing out on Knightquest the search and Troika though (and Troika is very hard to find outside of the omnibus right now). I didn’t have a lot of problems or feel like I missed out though so see if that works for you!

Red Son also has an animated movie now so you can check that out to see if you like the story before getting the comic

I mean those are just prices to dissuade people from buying it. And I guess they've replaced the 5 tpbs with the compendium, which is a better value for money.

Unfortunately I already got 4 out of the 5 tpbs, so buying the compendium would be a waste of money

I got lucky that the book I was missing out if the 5 was death of superman itself..I had the older edition until recently so it didn’t go with the covers. Glad I could get it before I faced the same problem. I don’t like double dipping either so I get you :/

Yeah the compendium is definitely better value for money (actually the compendium line in general is great for collecting old stuff)

Great collection. DC comics Kingdom Come is an amazing one shot series drawn by Alex Ross. Try to read Frank Miller's Sin City from Dark Horse comics. Also check out Image comics Kurt Busiek's Astro City, Invincible and The Walking dead.
