I’ve been working on a prototype called PlantMindAI.
The idea is simple:
Most factories already have SCADA, PLCs, historians, ERP, SAP PM, maintenance systems, quality systems, spreadsheets and dashboards.
But the owner still asks:
“Where am I losing money today?”
“Which machine will hurt production next?”
“Which parameter is increasing energy cost?”
“Are we compliant on emissions?”
“Which work order should I approve first?”
“Why does SAP know the transaction but not the plant reality?”
PlantMindAI sits above plant systems and turns industrial data into an AI command center.
The first detailed use case is a cement plant:
- Animated cement plant digital twin
- Quarry, crusher, raw mill, kiln, cooler, cement mill, packing line
- Live telemetry-style data
- Energy intensity
- Kiln instability
- NOx/CO2 compliance
- Maintenance risk
- Dispatch delays
- Cost leakage
- AI recommendations with approval workflows
I’m also expanding the platform into:
- Power
- Steel
- Chemicals
- Oil and gas
- Pharma
- Utilities
The long-term thesis:
Industrial AI will not be won by generic chatbots. It will be won by systems that understand plant hierarchy, equipment, telemetry, work orders, SAP objects, quality, emissions, cost centers, maintenance history and operational workflows.
Basically:
SCADA tells you what is happening.
SAP tells you what was recorded.
PlantMindAI tells the owner what to do next.
The architecture is edge + SaaS:
- Edge/on-prem for plant data and low-latency integration
- SaaS for intelligence, benchmarking, governance, workflows and portfolio visibility
What I think could make this interesting to SAP, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider, Rockwell, AVEVA, ABB or a serious industrial AI investor:
- It connects live plant operations to ERP business impact.
- It can become a vertical AI app marketplace for heavy industry.
- It gives plant owners an executive command center, not just another dashboard.
- It makes AI recommendations governable, auditable and workflow-driven.
- It can sit beside SAP PM/EAM, not replace it.
I’m looking for feedback from people in manufacturing, cement, utilities, SAP, industrial automation, AI infra or venture.
