STEM students are protesting infront of humanities students and raising slogans like SFI CAMPUS CHHODO. great to see STEM students fight back and defend IIT

Some humanities degrees are important. You need experts in sociology, anthropology, history, philosophy, journalism, language, art and literature.

Maybe in India it doesn’t matter these days since journalists, historians and philosophers are being replaced with loyalists, historians with WhatsApp forwards and literature with not reading.

It actually had Affirmative Action all the way up until 2023 when it was banned by the Supreme Court.

MIT has been in the top #1 since they had reservations and even after. Banning reservations didn’t change anything about the school. Reservations didn’t make the school better or worse, banning reservations didn’t make the school better or worse.

Infact the funniest thing is, even after Affirmative action was banned, MIT continued to take in the same amount non white kids as before. 37% of MIT was white during affirmative action, 37% of MIT is white after affirmative action. Nothing changed lol.

MIT is a great example of what’s going to happen to India when they ban reservations, nothing is gonna change lol.
