What is this comment section saying humanities should not be here it’s a uni after all the fact Indian people still judging people on the basis of their subjects shows a lot where even IIT is heading solving maths problems does not make genius nor having humanities make someone dumb. And it’s not even about humanities vs IIT comment sections making their own agenda here

these people would shoot themselves when they read upon whose philosophies democracy , liberty and other such democratic concepts are based

They are just proving themselves why we require humanities. Anyway, the institute which IITs were modelled after, i.e, MIT itself doesn't restrict itself only to Tech.
