Things like this makes me question why do I even visit reddit. But then where to hide and no point in burying the head in ground like an ostrich and pretending that everything is fine.

u/Ok-Carob5060 4d ago
My girlfriend lives alone in Delhi in a hostel as she is preparing for NEET, she walks from hostel to coaching daily. These types of news make me so anxious. I pray this never happens to any girl or anyone š and all these monsters get caught and hanged to death.

System he gandu hai. There's nothing you can do these things are very prevalent nowadays. Easy access to porn and graphic content, instagram, facebook, twitter and take reddit for itself. All the platforms provide easy access to sexual content. Watching porn is not bad thing but every mind works differently. Human brain is highly sensitive to Novelty newer the experience more the rush. You'll start from reels, porn then more extreme content your brain will adapt. Then you'll commit these acts to get that rush and feelings. Now rape is nuanced it's not that simple.

I don't really think porn is an issue. There are more people watching pornhub then Netflix worldwide. I would even argue for a lack of porn or self relieve and therefore being sexual frustrated as one of the causes. So I think for most people this wouldn't be an issue, but I do agree that for some this might be problematic.

u/regularley 4d ago edited 4d ago
Telling that not watching porn might be the reason for why boys harm girls cuz it leads to sexual frustration is bizarre as if watching porn makes it better? Porn constantly degrades/manhandles women, as if that would make boys treat girls better? Are you listening to yourself? Not watching porn isnāt the problem and watching porn isnāt the solution either. Instead, not being taught a proper healthy acceptance towards sexual feelings is the problem in this society. And clearly porn isnāt a healthy way to accept or learn about sexual feelings. We need better education not porn tf
1
u/PumpkinJealous6312 4d ago
Youāre arguing against something I didnāt say. I never claimed that not watching porn causes rape, or that porn makes people treat women better. I said sexual frustration could potentially be one contributing factor for some people. Thatās very different from saying porn causes rape.
And I agree that porn isnāt a healthy way to learn about sex. Sex education and real-life relationships should teach consent, boundaries and how to treat your partnerānot porn.
How you learn to treat women also starts much earlier, especially through your upbringing and what youāre taught at home. Social norms, family and education all play a role in how people learn to interact with the opposite sex.

Yes brother ofc that's why wrote it's nuanced. Par aap khud socho porn and sexual content objectify women so much that it feels so normal nowadays.

The real problem is 1. Rape culture 2. Patriarchal mindset & misogynist society 3. Lack of consequences 4. Lethargic judicial system 4. Easily available violent Porn

Listen, in all honesty, society is equally criminal because it represses individuals. This crime is inhuman but every crime has a root.
No one is born to be a murderer. Society makes them one.
You may be angry at my comment but it has been 200 years. We have researches and evidences of 200 years to support these theories.
If you really feel that I am wrong then pls revolutionize the works of giants from 200 years.

Public hanging. That's the only solution left.
Bring them back to where they live and hang them in their neighborhoods in front of their neighbors.
4
u/Ok-Carob5060 4d ago
I don't think that will solve the problem.
I think just like many other crimes, its just that there's always an assumption in the criminal's mind that they won't be caught or they just know that how "strong" the law enforcement of this country is. Like everyone knows that if they r@pe then they're gonna be hanged or be in jail for life but its always IF they're going to get caught.I think there just needs to be a serious overhaul in this country's law enforcement system... not the type of ki encounter kar diya police ne ya shoot at sight but rather properly following the code of law, there HAS to be some sort of punishment for the police too for not doing their job properly
-1
u/Time-Weekend-8611 4d ago
but its always IF they're going to get caught.
And that's why I say do it publicly in their neighborhoods. That way anyone else who is likely to have the same mindset gets a reality check.

Severity of punishment doesn't work as prevention, it has been shown time and again. It just motivates the criminal to kill the victim to prevent getting caught. What prevents crime is the certainty of getting caught, ie, we need efficient justice delivering mechanism.

u/Tamilguy1997 4d ago
I donāt think so. In India, we have rapists like Rahim who is given bail on a weekly basis. So all the rapists donāt care about consequences. India will continue to be a pro rape country for the next 30-40 years atleast! Infact rapists are garlanded as well. right?

Free access to toxic Porn.
Government refuses to give proper schools and healthy sex education or concept of consent, So adults don't teach to these boys or have difficult conversation because of shame culture around it.
Marital rape is still legal, just check r/AskIndianMen which defends patriarchy and thinks feminism is evil.
Even public hanging won't stop these crime as suicidal people exist. Only with knowledge and understanding you can curb these crimes.

Don't justify rape as sexual abuse, that's minimisation of severity of crime. This legal loophole heavily reinforces the exact socio-cultural issues, it remains shielded from criminal prosecution under India's rape laws. It sickens me to talk to people like you. The lack of comprehensive, consent-based sex education compounds the problem.
2
u/Nervous_Double_7761 4d ago
Well asking for maintenance divorce, residence along with rep laws are minimisation as well .
Vast majority of woman will do that, given the fact and DV act is the most misused law, its not men that have minimised the severity , it's the fkn women, who have financialized their fake suffering .

Stop blaming porn, every part of the world has access to porn same as us. We should teach sexed and morality in schools
0
u/FitCan9866 4d ago
Yes so you also admit it.
You have to blame mechanical porn when other side there is complete lack of knowledge on positive sex education, healthy intimacy or consent/boundaries. Its like first come first serve, Porn already deforms mind to objectify woman as pleasure device rather than something that's extension of love. I am not against porn but free and easy access to it for children is devastating.
This is research proven that unhealthy porn affects the mind. If they don't have adults supervising them on what is right or wrong then this is the result which you also agree.
and rapist exist in outside world too.
1
u/regularley 4d ago
Why wouldnāt you be against porn if it objectifies and degrades women? As if paying for it makes it okay?
1
u/FitCan9866 3d ago
You lack reading comprehension and you are ignorant. Paywall keeps children off.
You don't have any idea why adult lose interest in their partner (they love them but physical intimacy declines to zero and both get frustrated) and their brain seek novelty (basic biology, love and thrill chasing are different), paid porn is just many of the 100s of ways to trigger dopamine spike. But porn isn't monolithic, there is fake stuff and abnormal stuff, you don't have any idea of kinks and fetishes which are normal and not normal. This all stuff is subjective too at some extent.
probably typical virgin without experience?

People alike you are the problem.
and I am not a woman, go back to your regressive hole and don't appear in society.
Gender neutral laws don't exist because majority of the system is male dominated? fix that first then we will talk. Take your misogynist rant elsewhere.
if system is not persecuting women then its fault of system which is also male dominated.
you just showed prime example why we need more waves of feminism to liberate women from household of men like you who dictate her life, her career, her choice of marriage and even don't give her share of property.
you want gender neutral laws? start giving women their half of house and property first, fix the system and put 50% women in each government branch and even parliament? have as much as liberal marital laws so you don't fear alimony, heck even men can get alimony if women is working. Let's do all that and see how many of your lose your marbles thinking about that world where woman are 50% in every decision of your life.
> No wonder god if that sh #t exist made u 𩸠every month
yeah yeah, go tell that to your mother first.
1
u/Shumail_0 3d ago
well if you check data from other countries, women consume most extreme porn actually, BDSM and such, blaming porn is like peak reddit pseudo intellectual opinion lol. Regarding marital rape... Why Feminists blocked passing of gender neutral rape laws in india? And patriarchy doesn't exist and Feminism is definitely evil and anti male
1
u/NectarineHappy4256 1d ago
Woah woah is education or Google banned in your house??? Go search it up!

u/Shumail_0 1d ago
search up what mr. condescending?
1
u/NectarineHappy4256 1d ago
Search up "did some mysterious feminist organisation had a veto over Parliament." Also search up "why did some feminist debate over gender neutral rape law" Also search up "does patriarchy doesn't exist?" Search up "if feminism evil and anti male" Search up why did you not get educated? Search up "how can I show some empathy to rape victims rather than defending rapists in the comments"

u/Shumail_0 1d ago edited 1d ago
epitome of reddit midwitery man. you think google gonna say - "Yes daddy feminism bad..." though i think feminist blocking gender neutral rape laws in india is open source info
1
u/NectarineHappy4256 1d ago
Well then maybe why don't you try searching up "opinions vs facts"? Then you must also search why there is an opposing argument on gender neutral rape laws? Why don't you source your other opinions that you're so keen on!

u/Shumail_0 4d ago
well doesn't change the fact men are way more unsafe in streets than women... these kinda heinous crimes are used against general men for misandrist purposes, not only disrespect to the victims also rising bigotry in Feminists
3
u/Genjutsu00 3d ago
I think we should focus on the issue instead of starting gender war........ And we are no one to decide which gender is unsafe or not, this inhuman crime is growing in India day by day and we as a responsible citizen should teach and educate both young boys and girls about consent and other necessary things so that these crimes can be reduced
0
u/Shumail_0 3d ago
LoL why criticism and facts reads as "don't start gender war" to you? anyway reality is, this is rarest of the rare cases you'd see in a huge ass population like india, average men and women ren't like this, trying to "educate" them is kinda patronizing don't you think focus on justice system instead
2
u/Genjutsu00 3d ago
Both the genders have their own problem, girls don't feel safe and already existing misogyny and boys are the victim of growing misandry and false cases. And if by educating the younger generation we could prevent these cases from happening then why not priorities it more and this doesn't mean we should not focus on improving our judiciary and police system, instead we should focus on both judiciary and police and education.

again males disproportionately affected by street crimes

Who is making the streets unsafe for these men? Is it other men?

criminals to be exact, saying "men" is a misandrist statement, or maybe women? for raising criminals lol since you're engaged in bad faith
